must scare kids... i am going to make up a story about a crazy guy buried in the cemetary (right next to my building) and do some stuff in the gym with them... dark, candle light... scary story type of thing.. but i need some ideas on props and some sort of glow in the dark paint or black light paint to scare the shit out of them... any thoughts?

The emergency room has some eye drops that when placed in your eye and a black light is present makes them glow green. I wish I knew the name of the drops, maybe you can find out, or, I will before all hallows eve'. Add a pot of water and some dry ice to produce a nice "fogg" and you'll scare the shi out of them for sure! One of the E.R. doc's uses those drops every halloween and greets the trick or treaters with them in and a black light on his porch, very cool!!!

barbell, thanks.. nice ideas...

the other idea was basically useless

MB - I am probably the only girl you know that owns two dozen real extra large white pickled rats....
Haunted houses were/are my hobby and I have made 13 year old boys literally pee their pants. The question is how much do you want to spend and how much work are you willing to do???

With strobe lights and a black room with random pattern painted on it and people in the room in black body sacks with the same random pattern - basically what happens is the people you have working the room are invisible even though the room appears lighted, the kids can walk right into them or they can touch the kids and never be seen .
You can get a lot of mileage out of a chain saw with the chain removed.
You can build a guillotine that is an optical illusion and apears to really cut the actors head off. You can build bottomless pits for under $200. Then you have prosthetics and makeup that can create freaky effects even in daylight if you have a good makeup artist or even someone who is half talented artistically.
The rats are cool because they think they are fake and when they figure out they are real they flip.
A tunnel with a plexiglass floor and a decaying actor under it with red glow contacts is good, the tunnel is dark until they get right over the top of the actor and then the actor hits the lights....
Basically the only limit is funds and imagination....
