hairloss

Why is it that when you stop your cycle your hair keeps falling out? Does it ever stop again?

I not going to look it up right now but your hair has stages. Growth phase, rest phase and shedding phase. There are name for each of these.

Anyways, I think that the high androgen levels switches hairs out of the growth phase and into the rest phase. They will then This can be some time after the event that caused it has passed.

Something similiar happens when someone starts using minoxidil or propecia. The drugs cause the hairs in the rest phase to go into the shedding phase sooner then they would have. This causes the person to experience shedding, which usually freaks them out. But this is a good thing, because the hairs can then move into the growth phase again.

I believe that people that experience heavy shedding during a cycle, will gain all of the hair back eventually as long as they don't reintroduce the androgen again that caused it.

After the shedding phase it could be a few months for regrowth starts taking place. I think that something like minoxidil may speed it up during this time. But if after 3-4 months you do another cycle, then in regrowth will be lost again.

It is likely that if the hair follicle is continually bombared with androgens, then eventually the hair follicle we start to be damaged. There are many theories on hair loss but they do know that androgens like DHT decrease the amount of VEGF ( a growth factor) in the hair follicles that are prone to MPB. While removing the DHT increase VEGF. If these growth factors are removed long enough, there will be atrophy of the hair follicle that may never be able to be returned to its original condition.

That is why products like minoxidil tend to be successful if the hairloss is rather recent, but areas that have been slick show very little response.

By the way, minoxidil has been shown to increase VEGF in the scalp. This is why I suggest that it be used along with the anti-androgens like spiro and nizoral.

NICE POST Buckwheat1, always nice to read your responses as you pretty good on this topic. I should know, you helped me out on my threads a lot.
