Hair loss

Hi all

So i can give you the full picture i will explain. I am not on steroids and do have a pretty healthy lifestyle.I am 30 years old.

I am on Finasteride and saw palmetto to combat hairloss. I also use nizoral 3 times a week.

My hair is getting finer and seem to be losing more and more. If i had the head shape that suited the shaved look well i would just shave it, but th truth is i dont lol.

The Finasteride and saw palmetto doesnt seem to be working.I have been using the Finasteride for over 9 months if not more and added the saw palmetto a couple of years ago.

If these 2 medications arent working what could it indicate? Is it just not working for me, or could it be falling out for another reason?

I have heard there are tests you can have done to see whether there are defiencies. Anyone know anything about these tests?

I know alot of questions but i generally get some very helpful and educated responses.

Are you using Pharma grade Finasteride? How much you taking? I didn't see benefits from Finasteride for at least 3 months after taking but now my hair is fuller and thicker. Sometimes i even get hairs growing out of my forehead that is kinda wierd. I also use Rogaine but my honest answer to your question is that if you aren't getting any better you probably won't. Especially if your truely nattie. I wouldn't stop taking it though because it will all fall out.

If your dad or moms dad has MPB and those medications are "the real thing" there probably isnt anything you can do about it.

mothers dad had full set of hair i believe....but dads old man was bald.

ill keep trying. Have heard of alpecin shampoo (caffeine) but cant get that in Aus and a little skeptical about a shampoo than can help hair loss.

oh and yes the finasteride is pharma grade by prescription. Dont think its a good idea to skim on that sort of medication.

have u tried the leimo hair loss system. ive been usin it for about a yr now and its def growin back. its is a 2-3 yr process tho. it grows back as long as its been fallin out if u kno what i mean. if u have only started loosin it the last year or 2 it take that long to repair it give or take. i tried ashley and martin and it was shit!! had fuk all result and then when i went to claim my money back gaurantee they shafted me and didnt get a cent back. switched to leimo which was half the price and did it from home.

It may just be your genetics, at best the meds just slow the loss - think about trying Avodart & some spironolactone; I have also heard good things about Revivogen - OTC, natural but has good feedback.
