I switched from a "poofy" gym with a 50/50 mix... mostly people chit-chatting away.... most were not in serious shape....at $92/month... to a "dungeon-like" gym (mostly guys)... but most of them serious about lifting ...and $38 / month... it was a no-brainer.... motivation increases tremendously when you have a ton of role-models around you

Yeah man.... This is the kind of gym you wanna belong to..... I was a member of this type of gym for over 10yrs, but the guy sold it..... It was great, 90% Men, serious lifters, everyone was nice to eachother.... Since then, I joined a gym with a Club like atmosphere, and I fucking hate it..... They have good equipment, and I get a great workout..... That's the only thing keeping me there, but I hate the atmosphere, and I find the casual male lifters, and Hot Chicks on the Treadmills kinda annoying to be honest..... Most of the girls are Naturally in shape, don't really workout long, and basically compete with eachother in who can wear the skimpiest outfit.... Which can be pretty hott, but also distracting at the same time..... If I had my way, I'd rather join a blood and guts gym with hardcore lifters, but there aren't any near me at the moment....
I pay $30/month....belong to a small gym with nice equipment...and people that are serious about lifting..and woman that are figure girls...so that is my motivation right there..
its funny cause it use to be filled with huge guys and hot girls...
now i look around and there still some hot girls but its more a family gym...and the juicers there now really arent that big with the exception of a few monster...
maybe its that ive grown from when i was 16 and started lifting there at 155lbs

I workout at my university so its free (minus the tution cost), its alright depending on when you go. For example at 5 pm everyone is there to socialize but by 7 they are all gone and its just me and the dance team........you should look into any universities nearby, usually they're cheap and open early. Students tend to be lazy and sleep in......check into it
