Guys and maternity leave

to lazy to google, explain
Family Medical Leave Act - actually can be used for more than just the birth of a baby. But it doesnt specify that the person is entitled to full pay while they are away - only that the company has to hold their position until they return. He is likely using vacation/benefit days during that two weeks. Unless your company is just giving him 2 weeks as a freebie, which they can choose to do I guess, but that would be awfully generous.

I chose to take 4 months for maternity leave which my employer agreed to,. but I had to utilize any vacation/benefit days if I wanted to have any portion of that time paid. I ended up saving up enough days for 6 weeks paid and the rest of the time I was unpaid.

yea that is the problem, PAID freebies, then he gets his normal Vacation/PTO

rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrridicoulus

It's a federal law.
You're allowed 12 weeks of leave, if approved, for birth/adoption, care of a sick family member, etc.
But like Smurfy said, I doubt it's just free leave. It's prolly just coming out of built up sick or annual time.

I just took 3 weeks off for the birth of my daughter. Wound up taking 2 weeks of sick time and a week of annual time.

plus he gets to work from home 2 days a week....
oh sweet (for him lol).

yeah, if you want to take your employer up on that, then go knock up a fine young lady and do the same.

Thank God only woman get 2 weeks of paid maternity leave here and guys get only 2 weeks paid by the government. But I'm still careful whenever I hire a woman, gotta make sure she wont be leaving for a year unpaid and cause troubles.
