On a more serious note, I'm very happy he was convicted. That is some disgusting shit, ruined many young lives.

A very similar thing happened at my school, except it was a Tennis & Golf coach (mine). He invited young ones over to his house for pool parties, etc, would scope out whose parents were vigilant and whose weren't. Then would continue to invite the kids he thought were vulnerable. My brother in law was one of them, shit hit the fan when the kids he molested, around 8 of them, spoke up about 5 years later (it was still going on until they were 15 or so). He only got 4 years. They all testified, etc, when they were 16-17 or so. Weird stuff. I was at the bar with my BIL and my other bud who both were involved in this and there the molester fuck was just sitting at the bar looking all creepy at them. I got them both outta there asap because my bud had a crazy look in his eyes. "Let's go do a shot over at this bar across the street!" Got them the fuck outta there. Luckily most of those dudes turned into decent people but I can't imagine having those memories.

What do you mean by vigilant? How should a parent go about making sure this type of thing does not happen to their children? Trust no one? I'm not sure what to do. You can't be with your kids all the time... These people start early, sometimes before the kid understands what's happening.

What I mean is that when my parents dropped me off over there for a pool party, they came inside, met him, checked out what was going on, etc. He pretty much knew if anything weird happened, I would tell them. My mother also sat me down when I was young and asked me if I knew what a pedophile was, of course, I didn't, and she explained it to me. Told me if anything ever felt weird to tell her or Dad immediately.

You can't be with your kids at all times, but this sicko, like Sundusky, found kids and "groomed" them. Started off showing them porn, etc, and shit progressed from there. He was in a position of power (our coach) and took advantage of that. Those are the predators to be worried about.

Exactly, there is a lot that parents can do by teaching their kids about their body and how no one should touch them, I remember as a kid having a similar conversation with my mother in which she told me no one should ever touch me in my private areas, or undress us/watch us undress not even her and dad, and no one should touch me in any way that made us feel uncomfortable either
