Q: can insulin be used without GH
A: yes, but a study by Wolf gave some indication that these two work better when taken together. but lets not kid ourselves. insulin does most of the work.GH is a very odd compound. Other than its potential effect when added to insulin, youve have to use it with androgens for it to have any value in musclebuilding. does Gh build muscle all by itself? i have never seen a bodybuilder use Gh by itself and build muscle. this is exactly what three or four studies by Kevin Yarasheski clearly indicated. when you combine gh with good androgens, sometimes the steriods appear to work better, especailly when the subjects are training very intensly. gh has a theoretical potential via IGF-1 to promote increased numbers of nuclei in muscle cells. this might result in hyperplasia, an increase in the number of muscle cells, and hypertrophy, an increase in cell size.
although still highly theoretical, some people who use gh with androgens and train hard do seem to gain new, more permenant muscle tissue. this might be possible. ive seen some people who seem to have gained muscle tissue where the didnt really have much before.
GH also has its place in reducing bodyfat, but my experience is that the effect is somewhat exaggerated. gh effect on the growth of healing of connective tissue is apperent in all of the athletes ive seen with chronic connective tissue injury. i think this is the area of most profound benefit. isulin by itself is a more powerful anabolic hormone than gh, maybe the most powerful anabolic of all
