grinding your oats

No idea.

I don't grind mine... i simply heat water up and put in my oats and eat.

Adding cinnamin and splenda to taste if so desired.

^^ word for word ...

what kind of oats are you eating guin?

You're grinding them fine for use elsewhere??

You can use a blender or a food processor...I have a small food processor I bought simply to grind small amounts of things - about $30 - Cuisinart.....You can also use a coffee-bean grinder - just use it only for spices, etc & not for coffee....

Hi Jenn, I have a blender that i use a lot for my shakes. If I add the oats (dry) in the blnder will they still get blended/grinded?

Yep they should - just don't put too much in & block the mechanism....

i always put about a 1/2 a cup in a blender with when making my shakes...they blend up pretty good...there is usually always some that settles to the bottom though...I suck that down with the rest....

tiny coffee grinder from Braun will turn your oats into talc if you let it run. Larger quantity? be sure they are COMPLETELY dry by putting them in a 200f oven for 30 minutes, let them cool completely then putt them in a completely dry blender. Voila, powdered oats.

I mix 1/2 c. of almost powdered oats with 2 scoops of protein every morning for breakfast.

I just use a little food processor. Works great. When I get new tub of oats I grind the whole thing and dump the ground ones into the empty container.

Do you have to do the oven thing or is it not necessary?

Thanks

100 years later...No I don't make sure they are dry. I just pull them out of th jug I buy from walmart and put them in the blender. It takes me 3 blenders full to do 42 oz jug of oats into the powder.
