Grievance?!?!

Today was all fucked up. This dude I work with called in sick, and I called everywhere looking for coverage. Either I got the voicemail or the person I was asking didn't want it. So I came to this one guy who was listed in the call-in book who hasn't worked OT at our house in about 2 years.

The column underneath his name indicates his responses to all the previous Overtime offers, and we'd never get a response from him even if we left a message. So I got his voicemail and didn't bother leaving a message because i figured he won't respond anydamnway.

So one of the women that works in our house called back and accepted the shift. Cool, no one is mandated to stay.

Not half an hour later this dude calls back and starts giving me the bad gam-bu about how I called for OT and didn't leave a message and passed him over in favor of someone else (nevermind the fact that she works in-house).
He's swearing at me on the phone about grieving to the Union, of which I too am a member, and I'm trying desparately to stay frosty as this little four-eyed-chicken-hawk is giving me the business.

You know the type, midlife crisis guy, 5'6" 150 on a good day, small hands/loud mouth and he's a hothead on top of it all. Swearing at me like I'm a punk and threatening me with the Union.

I kept cool then, but I don't know what I'm gonna do if he wants to get in my face about it. Hopefully I can make him mad enough so that he takes a shot. Then I can serve him a sa'mich o' knux.
