I am going in about 5 minutes, but I cringe when I see the shelves full of celltech and ecdybol.
I think I will take a shower at the end of working there.

just think you are going to have to push that shit to customers. Im going to take a shower just thinking of it.

Start selling them on the idea of sauce... ;) You could be the pimp daddy of GNC... LOL.

Tell me about it. I work at one. I've actually refused to sell certain crap to people; it just feels WRONG.

I could probably make serious cash selling real stuff to all the skinny fuckers who come in asking for andro and tribulus. lol.

I worked at one for about 6 months when I was in college. I was the only who in there into BB and who had a clue. I tried to atl east push the products that I was were good (which even GNC sells) even if they were over priced when compare to online prices for example.

Yep...before long, some chump will come in saying.."I need some liquid creatine, some Nortesten and Anotesten. Oh, yeah..do you still sell the Cybergenics Ultimate Bodybuilding System?" You'll be like, "Wow, you're going to get huge off that stuff! I recommend some of these Andro Poppers, too."

anybody here own a vitamin/health shop?

Is it worth it? How much money to purchase (ballpark figure) such a store, excluding the real estate/leasing?

compared to owning a GNC (which I would rather not).

Well I finished my first day working there.
I actually enjoyed it quite abit despite it being kinda slow.
My manager actually knows her shit and works out so that's good.
Only 4 people came in today.
I sold 2 tubs of protein,2 tubs of weightgainer to some skinny arabic chump.

the best thing to do is to open a new franchise location, kick ass and get the numbers up and then sell it back to corporate for a shitload of money. for example, i know someone who opened a gnc on 100% financing, ran it for 10 months doing ~$40,000 a month (which is ~$10,000 profit) and then sold it to corporate for $300,000 plus the rest remaining on the note.

that is some good money.

that is some good money.
Maybe in the future I could open up a GNC/gym.
But the problem with GNC is they tell you what to price everything.
I was looking at the price lists and they are making 30-50% profit on everything sold. That is sick.
