Good video burning software???

Yep.....till I buy a DVD burner.


I'm hoping for a digital video camcorder for my birfday. I been looking at the Canon ZR65.
 
Most burners come with decent software for creating VCD's. I use Nero or Easy CD Creator. I don't think there are any burners left that come with Easy CD Creator, and it's about $100.

I've tried several different pieces of software, and they're all about the same...dump an mpeg file into the software, and it burns it.

No..you can take a downloaded movie, render it to the right specs for a VCD, and burn it to a VCD.

Burning to a DVD requires a DVD burner, and I'm sure you could do that.

My computer has the Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 on it, but it needs to be unlocked and upgraded to do the video. Was wondering if I could download software anywhere to do this. Can you download the Nero to do VCD's?

FF, you need a DVD burner for that.

How much is the upgrade? It's good software...if the upgrade is reasonable, I'd do it.

I'm sure you can download the full version of Easy CD or Nero via Kazaa, but that's risky from a virus/trojan perspective.

Well, in theory, any, but in this instance you'd be downloading a zip or an exe which could contain any number of things. You can scan it, which should catch most things, but one of the new concerns is people including trojan horses, which grant them access to do who knows what to your PC.

I've been known to copy a CD or two, but I rarely download software off Kazaa.

$70 doesn't sound bad to me.

its a cd that plays video on most dvd player.
not as good quality, but its free.
you need roxio platinum to make vcd's
 
VCD - Video Compact Disc

a VCD is CD that you can pop into a DVD player that plays VCDs. I'd say about 70% of the DVD players out there can play VCDs. I've made a lot of VCD but that may change since I'm getting a DVD burner this week.
