good glutamine source/brand

Looking for a good, inexpensive glutamine source with reputable results. Can anybody offer any suggestions as to what you take and what you'd recommend? Thanks

Do a search on DPSnutrition, they're cheap. Glutamine Peptides are suppossed to be even more absorbable. But IMO Glutamine is a waste unless you're really hypocaloric w/ strict dieting. W/ protein mixes like Cassein out there that can be used as an anticatabolic source and full blend of aminos, it makes glutamine useless IMO. That's just my .02

Increased plasma bicarbonate and growth hormone after an oral glutamine load.

An oral glutamine load was administered to nine healthy subjects to determine the effect on plasma glutamine, bicarbonate, and circulating growth hormone concentrations. Two grams glutamine were dissolved in a cola drink and ingested over a 20-min period 45 min after a light breakfast. Forearm venous blood samples were obtained at zero time and at 30-min intervals for 90 min and compared with time controls obtained 1 wk earlier. Eight of nine subjects responded to the oral glutamine load with an increase in plasma glutamine at 30 and 60 min before returning to the control value at 90 min. Ninety minutes after the glutamine administration load both plasma bicarbonate concentration and circulating plasma growth hormone concentration were elevated. These findings demonstrate that a surprisingly small oral glutamine load is capable of elevating alkaline reserves as well as plasma growth hormone.

thank you "sir"

I hit the optimum nutrition protein already and am pleased with it...may just give their glutamine a try

Let me just point out something. If you've been around supplement biz for a while you'll see the claims made by Methoxy or Ecdy and the research backing it up seems like it's even more powerful than d-bol right? That's just another supplement that looks wonderful on paper but in real life results looks like crap.
This IMO is what glutamine is, it looks great on paper but in the real world results, get real. Who in all these years of training have you heard gained any weight or muscle mass from L-Glutamine? I read countless posts on it, never has anyone posted even a quarter inch gain on their arms, and you would think they would considering all the research/info available on it right? I'm not saying you're right or wrong... just my .02

hey risky,

from everything I've ever read about glutamine, it has never been touted to be a supplement that would stimulate mass gains. If anything it's always been touted as a recovery agent... and based on the available literature on the subject, it seems to support the claims that supplementing with glutamine allows the body to recover faster from hard workouts than if you weren't taking it.

peace,
the bull.

Bull no disagreement there, I have noticed faster recovery w/ Glutamine (most of the time). But as far as muscle gains I agree w/ you, haven't read one post or user to gain anything off it. And that's the part that pisses me off, tell me it raises this, lowers that, stimulates this, preserves that, and at the end of it all and the smoke clears what just really happened? Jack shit IMO. Yeah you increase recovery a bit (or slightly) and may preserve some muscle if cutting... but as for the rest of the stuff it's not worth the investment.

I am with you risky,

L-Glutamine is best used when cutting and strict diet

ie #1500cal + clen + heavy cardio: then L-Glutamine would be a good anti-catabolic supplement

Not worth the $ when you're bulking
