I am looking for some help in choosing what foods to eat for my upcoming cutting diet. I am thinking of starting out with a Hi/Lo Carb Diet a la Bill Phillip's ARG (with some tweaking here and there). I have put together a short list of foods that could be used on this diet and would like to see if anyone has anything to add or subtract. Here it is:
Carbs:
Oatmeal
Sweet Potato (Bill likes regular potatoes)
Dextrose (pre-, mid-, or post-workout?)
Whole Wheat Bread (I thought bread was bad for cutting?)
Green Beans
Raw Spinach
Brown Rice
Broccoli
Skim Milk (I thought dairy was bad for cutting? Bill also suggest yogurt and frozen yogurt?).
Protein:
Whey powder (concentrate or isolate?)
Caseinate powder (probably in conjuction with the whey)
Chicken Breast
Tuna
Salmon (Bill suggest whitefish? What are some whitefish?)
Steak
Egg
Milk?
Fat (I'm really lacking good sources here):
Flax Oil
Egg
Salmon
Please feel free to add to the list of foods under the macronutrient groupings. Also, if you feel some of these foods are a no-no for dieting, I'd like to hear why?
Thanks,
Stan.
