I've recently had a shit ton of interviews with several companies and I've received several offers for employment. I'm finding it hard making a choice on who to go with.

What factors do you consider when choosing a company to work for?

i'm job hunting right now too and these are some of things i consider...
-Money, ofc
-HOt chicks there, can't help this one
-Minimal politics, big one
-Room to grow, a lot of old mgrs running around is good
-Perks, company vehicles, gas card, bad ass computer and shit are huge
-Benefits, solid medical plan is huge
-Chance of perm relocation, last interveiw said i may need to go to some russian islands wtf

If I may, what is the position for? Forgive me, but is this just a "job" or is this a career opportunity? That would weigh heavily in how one decides. My son had 3 standing job offers and I helped him make his choice. I tend to look to location and opportunity to move up as well as the company' reputation...assuming that all the job offers are monetarily close, yes?

Oh...and I've taken a lesser paying job for a significantly shorter commute. I used to work in Silicon Valley and I jumped at an opportunity that presented itself that was just 5 miles from home (versus a 26 mile 2.5 hour commute into the valley).

Any interviews that you left and said to yourself "I really liked that guy" , or " I really think this company is well impressive"

career opportunity

business development and sales, leading into sales management.

So I've decided the job that I really want is the one from today's interview. I had my fourth interview with this company today. I'm guessing I made it to the final interview so there's def. interest on their behalf. I thought the interview went amazing, did a lot of role play and went through sales scenarios, tactics, etc...until the last 2 mins of the interview.

The brown dude said, and I quote:

Humility will get you further in life than confidence....awkward silence.

I think I fucked it up because I seemed too confident.

I'm hoping they let me know Monday morning.

This is a very good good, lots of money, great opportunity for moving into management and career advancement, huge financial institution, huge company, the office building I would be working on alone has 2500 employees, private gym which is amazing, swimming pool on the roof, on site registered massage therapists, and a ton of perks...commute is only an hour in bad traffic and 35 minutes otherwise...

Exactly. Maybe they were trying to make a point

you figured all that out by yourself? off course they're trying to make a point.

I was too "assuming" on the mock call and that's why I came off too confident...but realistically, I analyzed the data given and was able to deduce criteria and interest and that's why I led the call in a certain way...there were no assumptions made on my end. I'm just good at what I do.

Good to see their point was completely lost on you

their point by definition was an opinion which is again, subjective...off course I agreed with them in the interview because that's the smart thing to do. However, in all fairness, I ran the scenario with a friend who's an executive and he's been doing sales for a million and one years and he said I did a good job.

Nothing matters but $$$ cuz there's always 1 fucking asshole everywhere you go.
And they don't usually make themselves known until you're already in.

Money is not the only factor quality of life is as well. You can make a shit to of money but not have a great quality of life if you are given no spare time, have a long commute etc many diffrent factors...

That's the exact situation I'm in now.
I have a 1 hour 40 minute commute one way and i hate it, such a waste of time.
But the $$$ is the best I've ever made.
I guess the point I was trying to make it is it's always one trade off for another.
You have to know what is most important to you and for me right now i need the money so I'll stfu and drive.

Ughh, I get an hour commute (only 20 miles) I live near D.C. In the Marines so i'm still stuck for another 3 years (maybe) if love to get out and move somewhere and STAY there. Military has its perks (decent pay, cheap health ins. and I get to serve my country) but 8 years is about enough.

is that really your arm bro
It doesn't get much better than that, does it? Prior to my promotion here, I was the primary LAN/WAN Engineer for the company and I would work from home. Not a bad gig at all.

lets set some facts... dude with biceps in him avatar requests career advancement advice from other dudes with biceps as the feature in their avatar. am I correct?

Also, what's up with all these companies having a 3 interview format? I've always thought it was 2 interviews....Both of them had 2 interviews via phone and then 3 physical interviews....wtf?

Real estate isn't the only place where it's a buyers market. When you have many, many qualified people applying for one position you can afford to be choosey when it comes to applicants.

Good Luck Traz!! Sounds very promising! :)
