Golfers...

I'm going to be picking up a new club in the near future. It will be a hybrid 2 and need everyone's opinion. For all you golfers, are you familiar with the hybrids (i.e. have you swung them)? My dad bought a Cleveland 2 and it's sweet. I currently own Hogan APEX irons, Calloway Hawk Eye 3/5 woods, Orlimar tri-metal Driver, Cleveland wedges and a White Hot putter. I normally use ProV1* balls and have been using Nike One's more often too. My USGA handicap is now a 9.3.

Thoughts?

I'm leaning towards the Hogan CFT Ti hybrid 2 as it'll go with my irons. I'm also intrigued by the Calloway 'draw' and the new Ping rapture.

:supercool

bro - it's pretty much whatever feels best for you.

try em ALL out and then grab the one that's most comfortable..............

I got a Taylor Made driver R580XD 8.5*
Callaway Steelhead plus 3 and 7 wood
Tommy Armour 855 irons 3-9
Cleveland PW
Vokey Wedges 56* 60*
Odyssey rossie 2 original

Earlier this year i bought a set of Tommy Armour Hybrids. It has a 4 iron/wood and a 3 iron/wood instead of your normal 3 and 4 irons.

I bought a new set of Calloway irons a few months ago but i left those two hybribs in my bag. They are the easiest clubs i have ever hit in my life.

My Bag:
X 460 Callaway driver
Adams GT 3 and 5 woods (very easy to hit clubs)
Cleveland sand wedge
Armour 4 and 3 hybrids
Callaway Big Bertha irons LW and 10-4 irons (2004 models)
Nickent Pipe Putter

BTW I shot an 82 yesterday on a pretty tight course.:)

hey fukker, when are you going to be in miami?

Deteras, thanks!

Fishy, I was there last month. I will be back in December and almost for good next Oct. I thought you were in Jax or Daytona?

i dont like hybrids, i bought one cause i thought i would hit it longer than my 3 iron and there about the same

Well, I made it to Golfsmith yesterday and saw their hybrids. Unfortunately, they only had three that were for lefty's (Calloway, Cobra and Ping G5). I went to their range and hit the Calloway. Nice feel and avg distance around 235. Cobra was next, it felt better than the Calloway, with a smaller head, but I was using the graphite and I prefer steel. Distance was around 250 with several ~265 shots in there. Then I swung the Ping G5 and OMGWTFBBQ, this club was the real deal! Smaller clubhead than both of them, and it seemed to be more endloaded than the other two. I was gracefully hitting balls in the upper 270's with occasional shots over 300. Granted, the system is a bit flawed, but I was stroking the shit out of the balls with minimal draw/fade. Avg clubhead speed [at bottom] was around 116-118. I also swung the R7 and it was tight.

That is some banging yardages with the hybrids. The courses that I usually play on are not very long, so my drives usually are more than 150yd to the green. I dont carry my 7 wood or three iron very often. All I need is my big woopin' stick!! lol
Might run to the pro shop today and see what hybrids they got, just to see what they are all about.
