Here are some old posts that I have saved, but relax, it usually goes fine>
Smugglers Blues
The basics:
You are in a frioegn country. Be cool, be respectful.
Dont draw attention - especially while at the Vet or Pharm.
Dont buy a LOT of stuff, just a reletiveky small amount.
Dont park your car within view of the Vet/Pharm. If you walk out and into a car, its easy for someone to make a connection between you/gear/car and report ya to the border.
Change clothes/look after you viist the Vet/Pharm before going to the border.
Dont looked really different "big beard" or whatever - again, you will stand out.
Assume this ...... if you walk into a Vet/Pharm and walk out into a car which is within view, that someone may see you and call the border. Now, they might give a brief description of car, clothes, any traits about you which are different/unique.
So dont be different or unique. Change your shirt (maybe in the car on the way towards the border). Park way from Vet/Pharm.

this is why it is a good idea to go past tijuana, and down to an inland town, bordertown tj is known for being a trap, and this goes to prove it, this may be an isolated case but I say if you buy in TJ go at night, and then come back late with a good buzz.
Just take the necessary precautions and you'll be fine. If you see someone watching your business a little too closely just return to that place later or go to another. At the border...if you look guilty you probably are, hence a secondary inspection. If you do get inspected don't freak out. Hange loose, it might just be that you're car is lucky number 10. If it's routine they'll just look in the obvious places (glove box, map holders, under the seats, etc...) Chances are if they pull out the power tools to take your vehicle apart you've been narced. Then it's up to you as far as damage control. As far as that isolated incident mentioned earlier last week, well, my friends have come across with similar loads no prob.
Of course I had gear in the car, what the hell else is there to buy in MX...?!
I'm on a mass cycle and I wore a tighter shirt that usual (don't do this, I wasn't thinking...) and he was checking me out & my girlie. He just asked for me to open my doors, and started rumaging around with a flashlight. I was just cooler than the other side of the pillow, offering help, making conversation,...finally, he got more interested in my girlfriend's legs and cleavage and started flirting with her and let us go. I did not get referred to the secondary search area.
He wouldn't found it anyway, unless they started taking shit apart, but it still wasn't fun.
Hi John, OK here's the thing, if you can avoid being reported and have a relatively decent hiding place in your car, you will really have the odds in your favor.
If reported, chances are they will take your car apart, and it will be very tough not to get nailed.
Here's how I avoid being reported in TJ:
I cross back over at Tecate (about 18 mi. E on the M2) at around or just before 8 pm on weekends (shift change).
I will have changed my clothes & several hours or even days (if I go down to Ensenada) will have passed since my purchase.
Make sure to take the usual precautions around the farmacia/granero when buying. Then, depending on the car I drive, I will find a way to hide the gear that will require a thorough search to find.
For example, if your car has fold down seats, see if you can lift the carpet and find a "groove" or space in the trunk floor board(right where the seat folds down). If so, get a bar pad (for squats) and load you vials in it and close tightly.
Stuff the pad in the space, cover with the carpet and load a suitcase, gifts, bags, etc over the top of them.
Some cars, will have a head rest that makes it easy to stuff gear into, others can be altered to store gear.
They will look in the most accessible places first, stereo, console, glove compartment, ect. so I would stay away from there. You can always put your gear in shampoo bottles, ect., but if they're going through your bags, they may expect this method for smuggling as it is commonly used. Go ahead and ask any specific questions if you like, otherwise good luck and be careful. PAE
