"God save me."

they just showed WTC survivor who was on the 88th floor when the plane hit. she was released from the hospital today after sustaining burns on 70 percent of her body.

she asked God to "save her" during the attack. for being such a religious woman, wouldnt going to heaven for eternity, not recieving burns on 70 percent of her body and living in pain for months, be considered "saved?"

i'm not trying to be an asshole or anything, its just that i know i would much rather go to heaven than live in pain. i heard that and questioned the logic behind the statement.

It pisses me off because that it implies that everyone who died wasn't as good of a Christian as her. She lived because god favored her.

Heck yea she would rather go to Heaven than live with burns. But at the time she was fearing for her life or maybe she has some family members who don't trust the Lord as their savior yet and wanted more time to spend with them.

Or is she being punished???

I guess God didn't like the other 3,000 or so people. Guess none of them begged him to spare their life.

God saved one! The same God whose name this atrocity was done in.

They're both figments of imagination who people follow. The name may be different but the idea is the same.

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are closely related. Which is why our "Gods" are always butting heads so much.

She just happened to be at the right or wrong area at the right or wrong time...however you want to look at it..
I personally don't think I would want to live like she is now, I know that may sound vain, but it just doesn't seem worth it.
However, I do have a daughter, and I know it would be better to be in pain and see her grow up, than to be dead.........
Just really something to think about....................

Anyway, I am sure 90% of the other victims prayed to some god before dying......that didnt help them.

well then if you were on the 88th floor and asked god to save you, then he would have let you die, because he would have known what you meant by "save"...........just a thought.

maybe she has friends and family that want her around, and she wants to be with them regardless whether she's burnt or not.

Once again, many here are jumping to conclusions.

I was in a car wreck at the age of five.

We rolled a station wagon three times on the highway.

I had a grocery bag full of glass containers as did my brother.

None of us had our seat belts on.

there were four of us---Mom Dad my mrother and me.

As we drifted off of the road and began to role, my father called for the name of Jesus---none of us were seriously injured---and the glass containers were all in tact.

Christmas '98 I was traveling to work early in the morning. It was the morning after a bad ice storm and the bridges were still icy.

I approached a 75yard long bridge with my foot off the pedal and hands firmly on the wheel--doing 55mph.

It had not been sanded.

before I knew it I was perpendicular to the cement embankment ---headed directly for it and would surely plunge through it and into the clear fork branch of the Trinity River. I called out the name of Jesus and Turned my wheel and hit my brake.

By the grace of God I came out of it and proceeded down the median---unharmed.

Thank you Lord.

If I would have continued sliding, I would have either rolled when I caught traction or plunged off of the bridge.

I credit my heavely Father for saving me there.

There were other wrecks that day where people were hurt.

It is not for me to say why they were not spared.

I just thank God for acting on my behalf.

Would you rather die and go to heaven, or spend as much time on earth as you can with your children and family, and then go to heaven later? I think that answers your question.

Yeah, and me and three buddies were heading down the interstate in a '72 Cougar convertible doing 100 when we had a blow out. I screamed, "HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT!!" as we careened into the median, plowed through 200 yards of weeds and dirt, missed a drainage tile by three feet (which surely would have flipped us), swerved up onto the shoulder of the oncoming lanes (where a tractor-trailer and a car were approaching on a collision course with us), then managed to swerve back down into the grass and come to a stop. We got out, changed the tire, and limped the rest of the way home, unscathed.

What's your point?
