the netherlands dirty play caught up with them. spain was flopping and being bitches (they're definitely a soft team...more finesse) but still.
Smart approach though if you think about it. from a pure talent standpoint Spain is way better than the Netherlands, and since there's no more games, suspensions from acrueing yellow cards don't matter. They decided to play physical and it kept them in the game (although Spain had a boatload of chances). Just came up short and missed their chances. Iniesta's goal was awesome, perfect timing

pretty much, your understanding of football (soccer) is good, especially considering the sport isn't popular in America
