Glucophage

I started it about 3 weeks ago because of my age (46) to increase insulin sensitivity because I can't shed carbs to save my life, and because I intend to start a gh cycle soon and intend to use metormin instead of slin. The first day I took 1000 mg. got nauseous and diarehha (sp), so started all over again using only 250 mg ED for a few days, then gradually back up to 1500 mg ED. Biggest difference so far is that it makes me feel a bit bloated at night and kills my cravings for carbs, which is great because I tend to get munchie at night:mix: Hope it will eventually help me shed this middle-aged gut.
 
What about taking 1000mg pre workout to allow the tabs to absorb and then a protein shake with creatine post workout?
 
Have you tried doing a search on this, because I too am interesed in the possible benefits of Glucophage and have found many informative threads in the archives.
 
Moose, yeah, I searched and got some good info about technically what the drug does, but not really anything about its use in bodybuilding (bb dose, when to take, what foods to load up on after taking). if you came across any of this stuff, please let me know. Thanks man.
 
I did most of my resarch on metformin on a number of anti-aging sites, where they recommend it for everyone over 40. One doctor went so far as to say that someday it will be used like we use vitamins today. DrJMW on this board also provided some great insight. And no, I haven't noticed any anabolic effects, but I'm also just finishing a 'var/winny cycle.
