ginger root and protein?

For some people it does. The only way to know for sure is to give it a try for a few weeks.

Personally, I don't bloat much from large amounts of protein (and I don't get the protein flatulence, etc.,) - but a guy at my gym swears by his freeze dried ginger root caps....he takes 500-1000mg depending on how much protein he's ingesting

Protein can bloat some people up due to it's amino acid profile, which some people are allergic to. However, that is not the usual case. As far as ginger root is conserned, in my view it's a really good supplement to help the digestive system. So, if you intake high amounts of protein, I would say ginger root would be a good idea to add to the mix.
