Maybe is she knew which celebs used it - she would be agreeable... This is how I explained it to my wife, I showed her people on the TV and then compared them to people we know of similar ages - very crude but very effective...

Celebrities Go Crazy for Anti Aging Miracle
Top celebrities are shelling out up to a mind-boggling $800 a week for an anti-aging hormone in a desperate bid to outfox Father Time. Celebrities like Dixie Carter, 59, are singing the praises of human growth hormone (HGH). "I've been taking the hormone for the past year and I feel better than I did a year or two ago," says Designing Women star Carter. "My body seems firmer and in better shape. My complexion looks better, my hair is thick and looks great. My legs feel strong and I don't tire as easily as I used to. I believe this is all because of the hormones."
Goldie Hawn, 52, Nick Nolte, 58, George Hamilton, 59, and 47-year old Joe Piscopo have been linked to HGH, say experts in the field. "George Hamilton is another who appears to have found the fountain of youth, which is what HGH has been proven to provide," says Dr. Klatz, "Nick Nolte attended our most recent conference and seemed extremely interested in HGH". And Dr. Alan Mintz, founder and director of the Cenegenics Anti-Aging Center in Las Vegas, adds: "Joe Piscopo is another celebrity seen at our meetings."
HGH is a hormone the body produces naturally in the pituitary gland. Most is produced in childhood, which causes the "growth spurts" seen in the vast majority of children. "Old or damaged cells that might otherwise cause aging are swept away or repaired," explains Dr. Ronald Klatz, founder and president of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and author of Grow Young with HGH (HaperPerennial).
But as we age, our levels of HGH slowly drop. At age 60, for example, we produce only a fraction of our youthful levels. And with one American turning 50 every 7.6 seconds, the demand for anti aging formulas is skyrocketing. Dr. Murry Susser of West Los Angeles says he treats about 50 members of Hollywood's elite, from movie stars to studio heads. And Dr. Ronald Lawrence, of the UCLA School of Medicine, says HGH is so popular in the film industry " there are probably about 20 doctors between Beverly Hills and Hollywood who, between them, have hundreds of clients."Only in recent years have researchers harnessed the power of HGH as an anti-aging miracle. In 1990, a study by the Medical College of Wisconsin researcher Dr. Daniel Rudman found that older men taking HGH built new bone and muscle mass, lost body fat and developed healthier skin.
"Adults who use growth hormone report that they feel stronger, breathe easier and their endurance and zest for life is better," says Dr. Edward Lichten of Michigan, who uses it himself. Mintz, 60, also uses HGH and won the 1996 Amateur Athletic Union Mr. Illinois Grand Master Division body -building championship. "I wouldn't be in this business if I didn't believe in the program," he says, " I've been taking HGH for three and a half years and I've never felt better."
