getting rid of used pins???

I was wondering what you guys did with your used pins as far as throwing them away or what?? I felt kinda bad to jsut throw them in the trash and someone getting possibly stuck by them.......just wondering if you dropped them off at a hospital or whatever? Thanks!

Used pins

Take some pliers and snap them off and put them in something that closes ( make shift sharps container). That is if u don't mind leaving them at your house. If not do the same and then dump them in a dupster at some convenience store. Don't put them anywhere a kid could possibly get them. And don't leave them in the trash if you have kids.

I put them all in a old coffee jar(aluminum ones), seal it when it's full and duct tape the fuck out of it. I then write "hazardous waste" on it in black marker so no kids get into it----then I toss it in the nearest dumpster.

I don't know, I was a pretty stupid kid, might open something that said "hazardous waste" on it. I just use an empty protien drink bottle, they fit perfectly, then throw in the community dumpster.

Take the needle off and put it in a soda can after you get a few in there just pack some paper or cotton in so they dont rattle out. Works for me!

I dont think the dumpster is a safe place for you to put then to many kids play in dumpsters i would through them in my own trash can place them in a empty glass jar place the lid on and thats it or use a soda can..

In UK we just return to local needle exchane or local hospital. I realise Laws are different in USA so do not fully understand implications if you returned then to a hospital for safe disposal. I know in UK they are more than happy to safely dispose.

depending on where yo buy your pins, you can buy pre-paid mailers with sharps containers in anywhere from 1qt to 1 gal. sizes. Fill the container and pop it in the amil, all nice and legal.

Put them in a screw top bleach container. Mark the bottle "sharps". Put it out with the trash.

I put mine in a beer/soda can and crush it flat so no one can see what is inside. Then after I build up a small collection I take them to a dumpster.
