Getting a job....

Anyone else here have probs finding work? I have only been unemployed since December, but already I have applied for 30 jobs. I got 2 interviews lined up and another 2 interviews possibly.. but why does it take so fucking long?

Seems like employers can just wait for that perfect person.....

It's a tight economy! Very uncertain at this time. Job market is very flat. Employers are more worried about the bottom line and getting by the best they can. Hang in there.

i don't know about out there.. but it fucking tough out here..

i was lucky to get my old job back because someone quit.. had he not quit.. i probably would have been looking at another 3 months of unemployment..

and it's not getting better.... not out here anyway..

The lawyer industry I am in now is stagnant... I can't buy an interview. 65-70% of my graduating class does not have employment as of yet... this means, every job opening that is out there has about 500-1000 resumes being sent to it... over half the jobs I apply to, I don't even get a response... it's fucked up.

Gary.....here's a short story,

I recently had to fire a guy right before Christmas because he never took me seriously. He would arrive at work late, sometimes he wouldn't even come to work(especially on payday). He was a super guy but I warned him right before Thanksgiving that if he continued to do it, I would have no choice but to fire him. About two weeks before Christmas, he laid out and I fired him. He always said he could find another job easily somewhere else. He was making between $1700-$1900 a month. He filed unemployment on me. It made me so mad because he obviously showed an unwillingness to work. Anyway, after reports were filed with Employment Commission her, he was penalized for his actions and cannot draw compensation until Feb 23 and he can only draw $130.00 a week.
He cannot buy a job right now! There is nothing out there to be had. If you find something hang on to it! If you happen to have a job nowadays and you hate it......hang on to it for the time being until the economy gets better.

Decembers not bad, it's the guys that whine about not having work for 6 months and their family is starving while they look for a job.. Christ get a job jocking a register or something in the mean time! It's not that hard and at least it's some kind of income. There are always $7-$9 dollar jobs out there. It's good enough to keep your head a float until you find work
