George S., I normally would have...

asked this in private, but, since you posted some financial details on that one thread, I'll ask here. I don't know you're arrangement, past or present with Mass Quantities, but, is there a supplement sponsor or other company that could help out with Elite's boards? It truly would be a tragedy for the board to go down, so I figured having all of us know the specifics, may help us go platinum and buy products from companies that support the site....

Thanks in advance,
POShredded

That should be more prominent....I think someone even posted a question about ordering from mass quantities recently. I just ordered powder from another company yesterday because I thought that relationship had ended.

Hi POS,

I appreciate your concern. I think a few members have no idea how much this site costs to run.

Elite Fitness is operating in the red and I am working as hard as I can to make sure that we stay online and to get us back in the black. We spend $4000 every month just with our ISP keeping the site online and our recent upgrade cost us over $17,000. That's a lot of money, but believe it or not, it is a good deal.

I can say with absolute certainty that EliteFitness hosts the largest repository of bodybuilding information ever assembled in one place and the growth in the size of our database and in the number of members has made the site more expensive than ever. If we were to go offline, then this data would be lost forever.

While I welcome criticism, please know that the cost of the site is related in large measure to the fact that we give so much away for free to so many members -- and that for many reasons, so many of you make this your virtual home for so many hours a day.

While I am always open to members' constructive criticism, in the future, I hope some of you will try to find in your hearts a little room to support me and the Platinum membership program. We cannot do it alone.

By the way POS, a Platinum Membership costs only $8.98 a month if you buy three months and get the fourth one free. And you get an $11.97 coupon at www.EliteFitnessNutrition.com just for Platinum Members to use on all orders. I'm working on educating members about the supplement store and I appreciate your help.

george,

i knew this site had to be costing some serious dough to keep it up and running...

have you not had any offers for sponsors? i mean, this is the largest bodybuilding forum on the internet. not just that, but it was also featured in newsweek (i know in a rather negative manner to say the least...but here is no such thing as bad publicity).

my friend ran and was co-owner of the largest emo dating/meeting/message board on the net, and they had no issues with sponsors...they were also featured in spin magazine.

i am really shocked that companies arent approaching you to advertise here.

once i get a job, i will help do my part.

good luck with everything.

Thanks p0ink for your support. We are working with Overtures on a project to come out soon, but we need member help too.

THATS WHY I USUALLY SAVE MY COMMENTS (THOUGH SOME DO SLIP THROUGH NOW AND THEN) ABOUT THE BOARDS NOT RUNNING AS GOOD. IT REALLY HAS BEEN HORRIBLE FOR ME ACTUALLY. ANYWAY, IF THEY GET TO RUNNING BETTER ONE OF THESE DAYS, I'LL PROBABLY GET THE PLAT. MEMBERSHIP. I THINK I'M GONNA WAIT TO JOIN TILL YOU OFFER A FREE T-SHIRT PROMO OR SOMETHING......LOL JK.

George,

Thanks for your replies...

I will go platinum. I can't do it now as my wife needs the computer.

There has to be some other way for you to make money off this site. I don't know how much it cost for the backbone as supernav said but I will say ask why more marketing is not done by you guys...NOT with pop-ups...we HATE them!! I would say that I'd have MANY relationships/deals with companies/advertisers as Poink suggested. The NY TIMES website is very good at placing ads within many of their articles that aren't too obtrusive to take away from navigating the site. I personally don't like: popups and the annoying ads that Yahoo has sometimes when you are surfing their club boards...

There has to be a way to market your supplements more and give platinum members discounts on them and/or with your advertisers (i.e. AF.net). You could also do some incentive-type program, the more you buy, the more you save by earning points or something toward products/services.....

Market services (i.e. setting up diets/programs for people like Mr. X does...have a seperate board for these people that ONLY those on the program or that are platinum can go to (Swolecat has a page only for his swoldiers...I'm not one and don't know him at all so I'm not marketing for him). That page could have members sharing info on how to use your products or services to work for them. I'd have a page others could access promoting the success of these people with before/after pics and stories...

You should pay me for all this info!!!

Ok, I'll seriously join tomorrow! My wife has to work on a nutrition program for a client of ours!

Thanks!

George, I pay $11.97 monthly, and have for quite some time now. But, I see that it's a hell of a lot cheaper to by 3 months at a time, and get the 4th month free. I went platinum to support the site, but I have to say that sorta screws some of us who have been plat when it first started. The cheaper option also get's the coupon for supps.

Like I said, I will continue to support the site, but just something to think about for the longtime plats who are still paying the $11.97.

Thanks,
Joker

Hi Joker,

I appreciate all of your support over the years -- I can change your membership (and member's) at any time -- I'll even give you a few free months! Just let me know what plan you want -- I want you to be happy.

What's a Xannie? Let me know if you want a different Platinum Membership -- this is a good week to change, because we can then send 50% to B Fold!

LOL Xanax!!! I dont think we should discuss this in an open forum though!!

G-Man, whats the deal with the email accounts? I've gone through about 3 of them already. I know they shut down due to inactivity, but like yourself, I am a fairly busy guy and when I travel I dont have access to my comp all the time.

The biggest coincern I have is that I can't access some very important emails from friends and such. Do I really have to pay to get that stuff back? Is there anyway we can work around that?

I dont remember how much time I have left as plat member (I signed up for 12months plus 7 freemonths). But I will support the site and BFOLD so you can run me up again on the card for another year.

I dont have an email where we can confirm this. PM me if you want.

Thanks KingJohn,

And I'm glad to comp you an upgraded EliteFitness.com email account. What is the Email address you want Upgraded? You also get a free T-Shirt for paying for a year, so let me know your size.

Hey George what would a 2 year membership cost by chance

A one year really lasts for 19 months because you get 7 months free during the current promotion. A lifetime membership is $299 and includes a gym bag, a T-Shirt, and a premium elitefitness.com email address. That's the best deal going right now.
