General Information about the Problems connecting here...

Hi All:

The problems that you are experiencing connecting and posting here are caused by your internet security program (rightly so), Norton, or others.

Mine has detected a "Buffer Overflow" attack from this site against my computer which is an attempt to gain backdoor entry into my computer. This will allow unrestricted access to all my data, and it is a hacker's tool.

There is probably nothing wrong with your computer, this is most likely caused by a program running on the EF server. Your security program once it sees this attack will not allow any response from the site for up to 30 minutes.

I would suggest being patient until the EF IT folks fix this at their end....that is what will have to be done.

DO NOT turn off your security, lest someone gains access to your data....

Here is the attacker info from my Norton:

Bro, I just did a sweep from my logs. All I see is the regular stuff: cookies, referrers records, etc.

I'm not too sure about this and would prefer to see the ISP point. A machine trying to attack a large number of computers does not sound typical, it is the other way around.

It probably is housed on the EF server, and is attacking all of us when we try to post, piggybacking on the response from the server....

very common...

OK folks, the IP address that matches the one bullett gave & that I had actually posted before he had, is the server hosting Elite...
69.90.197.215

*Thus, the problem lies in the server.
Hopefully George & staff will contact the appropriate people.
