Gear/Anesthesia

I have to under go some surgery and it's going to require me to be under anesthesia. This anesthesia will completely have me out, just like im sleep. I want to start my cycle now. but a buddy of mine was telling me not to be on a cycle while undergoing anesthesia, he explain to me that some bodybuilder went in to have some work done. Dental i believe, and did'nt tell the them that he was using and fell into a coma and died. WTF!. so... i guess this is my situation, I wanna start up now but i got this shit hanging over my head.

I haven't heard this before... but not discounting it. Im no medical professional. :jenscat

How long till the surgery? What are you having done? Is it possible to wait until after to start your cycle? Will the surgery hinder your training while you recover? If so, you should hold off anyway obviously.

But im interested in hearing what ppl have to say about the anesthesia/gear being a really bad mix etc and what risks are involved.

depends on how much gear you're on. if you're on a mild cycle, probably not. I guess it depends on person and their reaction with anesthesia. It's always dangerous - so you want to be as "sober" as possible in everyway. Who knows, maybe it that guy died because he had a bad heart.. High blood pressure..didn't follow the physician's directions of not drinking water before hand...maybe he was on a heavy dbol cycle which retained 2 much water causing the blood to be 2 thin and that was the problem..maybe his rbc count was 2 high..who knows...but we could speculate all day but in the end, make sure you're sober from gear and anything else and def. make sure you're right before God before going under...

LOL spare, you are right though. makes you wonder about emergency surgery though, what if something happened, car wreck, fall, anything and they need to operate, you could have issues then

i just had surgury (nose ) i had the dates moved back because
i was mid cycle when it was smashed .when i was checken
out on the boards about risks the only one i heard was more
bleeding and slower healing (not true for igf1,gh) so i cleaned
out everything ,supps to .
Brad.

I dont see how those two can react against each other and cause death. If they drank water beofre hand most likely would not have killed the BB. Chances are slim that the BB died from aspiration for undergoing anesthesia. med professionals take a lot of precautions to ensure pt safety. Sure we make mistakes and people die under the knife all the time but not from being under so much. What are you having done? Are the going to intubate or will it be conscience sedation?

bro, that's some scary shit if it really happened, but how do they know if it was from the gear? I just had surgery on my knee on Wednesday, and I took my last shot of test/eq/winny on Monday. I didn't have any problems, and they knocked me out too with the anesthesia. I wouldn't worry about it.

that was my point. Who knows if it was from gear or not, but it's just safe all around to be off of everything. I have to go back under the knife again, but I'll make sure i'm not cycling before hand. :p

I always get asked if I am taking steroids b4 a surgery. I asked an Anasthegologist who used to train at my gym why they always ask me that ques. His answer to me was that if you have used any AAS prior to the surgery it may affect the dosage and or specific Anasthetic needed to put you under.

I have never heard of anyone dying for it. I am sure someone on gear had to have emergency surgery before. I think if it were a problem then we would have heard about it. Any chance the media gets to jump on stroid they will do so quickly and loudly.

Not all meds need to be discontinued before surgery...BP meds being an example......things like coumadin need to be stopped if they might interfere with recovery. To my knowledge, there are no complications from juice with general. If taking something like anadrol, id stop just because it has a more profound effect on blood than the others.

I didnt know it anesthia was based off the type of meds you take? in all my experience it is weight based. AAS work on different receptors than anesthia from my understanding.

A common drug used to put people under is diprovan which is weight based. We have used it on people who were strung out on crack, meth and heroin. main concern with diprovan is BP.

Usually its a combo starting with versed and fentenyl, with others like propofol and other anesthetics....weight is used to determine how much to use in cases, but as far as drug interaction, sometimes some meds will either react with other meds (MAO inhibitors and opiates for example) or with the procedure (coumadin and excess bledding in surgery).....dont think AAS have any interactions to worry about.

I say don’t go under if you are on gear,

Others here will disagree

I had a face lift about 4 years ago, on a cycle and my head filled up with blood post op. had to go back and re do the face lift and drain my head, looked like a swollen grape for at least a week, then had surgery again 6 months later,

The face lift never lasted, but the anesthesia nearly killed me.
