gear and breast feeding

New member
I've tried doing a search, but no return. Anybody know where I can find information on the effects of steroids while breast feeding.

thanks

I dont know anywhere where you can find info on it ; but just common sense says not to breast feed while on a cycle. Everything you intake passes along to the baby......best to wait until the breastfeeding is completed. Thats my opinion.....have breastfed all three of mine, and I would of never chanced something like that.

Thanks for all the replies. Because of common sense, I've already decided that roids will not be involved while breast feeding. However, there is more to life than common sense. There is fact. Though I would not even chance it, I am still motivated to find the truth. I know that while in the womb, the baby absorbs all nutrients going into the mother's mouth through the umbilical cord. Unfortunately, I don't know if the same is with the mammary glands. With some research, i found some drugs compatible with breast feeding:
acetaminophen
many antibiotics
antiepileptics (although one, Primidone, should be given with caution)
most antihistamines
alcohol in moderation (large amounts of alcohol can cause drowsiness, weakness, and abnormal weight gain in an infant)
most antihypertensives
aspirin (should be used with caution)
caffeine (moderate amounts in drinks or food)
codeine
decongestants
ibuprofen
insulin
quinine
thyroid medications

This is listed in Breastfeeding.com
