Gaulblatter (spl)

Gaulbladder? When the Greek were colonizing Gaul, they took over some villiages and ordered the women to make these bladders made of tanned hide that they would carry with them into battle to piss and shit in.

You don't have to have it, it's just nice to have. It just is a place for your body to store and concentrate extra bile (a fat emulsifyer for digestion) secreted from the liver. Generally if you have your gallbladder removed, the bile duct from the livers just ends up enlarging a bit and you'll be a-okay.

so why do the chinese like to extract the bile from bears? just one of those weird things chinese do???

I think they take the bile and serve it as a meal at their restuarants.

They call it a "Gall Platter"

i'm just worried about scaring. The incisions don't look that great at the moment, even though they are fairly small. The incision in the naval does not look
good at all. My bellybutton doesn't look like it's centered correctly. I'm hoping this is just due to the swelling.
It's been less than a 36hrs since the surgery so i'm probably being paranoid.

the stiches are internal. Some type of glue was used externally to close the skin. Being no stiches were used to completely seal the incisions I thought they would come out a lot nicer. As i said before, i'm just being paranoid, I hope :(

I needed something to degrade my body from super sexy to just sexy anyway.

I hope so bro, keep us posted :supercool

Doesn't it affect your bodies ability to disolve/digest certain fats?

I thought the Galbladder released chemicals that broke down fats and made them digestible?

Those that have had a similiar procedure ....

What type of surgery did you have ?

How long did it take you to recover ?

I'm not sure what you would call the type of surgery i had but i can describe it: Two 1/2'' incisions on my right side, one in the naval and one 3/4'' incision in the right upper abs.

Also did you have trouble urinating after the procedure ?

that's the surgery I had...laser surgery. the recovery for me was surprisingly fast. i mean, i wasnt training at that time, so "getting back to normal" did not involve being able to squat and deadlift LOL

I think within a week or so I was functioning real well. But I had a 2 month old baby to take care of too.

I didnt have any problem urinating after the surgery that I can remember.

I did have to have the stitches removed after about a week or 10 days. That hurt because my skin had actually started healing up around the stitches so he had to yank and pull them out which caused some bleeding. I;m sure due to this, my scars look worse than normal. But even despite that, the scars are very small.

Either way, anything is better than having a gall bladder attack. Am i right? lol

i had mine taken out in 99, i didnt have stones but my gallbladder was diseased, I had 3 holes in my stomach, one above my bellybutton, and 2 (i believe) on my side. I was up and walking around the same day, gallbladder removal isnt a big deal, unless its enlarged, and they have to make bigger incisions to take it out and pull and tug on it....

If I remember correctly the urnination problem occurs in males mainly. After the surgery i had to have a cathiter(spl) because i couldn't piss. Almost 1500mls where in my blatter.

Acute gangrenous acalculous cholecystitis (not exactly sure what that means) was the diagnoses after my gallbladder was removed. I had a pretty bad infection and i didn't know it. It wasn't caused by stones either. It's like it just happened overnight. I was fine one day and the next morning woke up with a pretty bad pain in my right side.

The doc said it could have been caused by rapid weight loss or weight gain. He then asked if I were taking any "supplements".

anyway, i'm just rambling. I'm stoned and i don't have anyone to talk to this early in the morning.

I would still like to be able to piss. I miss the relaxation of a good piss.

Usually scars heal up really nice when the skin glue is used. Sometimes stitches end up healing the skin in a way that leaves little lumps where the stitches were. My prettiest scar was from the use of skin glue.

Has anyone else seen pictures of a gallbladder ful of stones? It's kind of icky. I have one on a cd but my computer isn't letting me save it for unknown reasons. I also have a cross section of a human leg on that same cd...with the various layers of tissue cut down into layers. The leg's all hairy. It's a strage pic since it's not a preserved body and is all red. The cd's from an anatomy/physiolgy class I took last semester....not just because I'm insane. :)

i thynk the golbader holdz yor shit or somtin lik that.
Yor blader holdz yor pis.

Gangrene is not your friend. You didn't have stones (acalculous) but something cut off the blood supply and the little bugger started to rot. (You may now go "Ewwww.")

You're a little lucky they were able to use the laparoscopic procedure (the "band-aid surgery") -- the doctor warned me going in they might have to fall back on the alternative procedure, which is darn near like being cut in half. I'm glad they didn't.

Checking you for proper kidney function is part of any surgical procedure involving general anesthesia -- I had to produce before they'd let me out of the hospital.

Give it eight weeks and you'll be pretty much over it. I can't find my scars (been about six years) unless I remember where to look.

I had to lay off the meds for about 5 hrs to be able to take a piss on my own.

This was my first, ,maybe last, operation to have.

i need to learn to take better care of my body.
