Hey Fukkenshredded, a while back you said you were going to write a book about training and dieting for regular guys, are you still going to do it?
I'd be interested.
Actually my intent was to chronicle the day to day routine that I used to get back into shape. I kept a fairly detailed log with this in mind. However, a personal issue prevented me from giving the project its due diligence. I have since more or less recovered from the incident, but as I have not made a full return to financial security (I was fairly secure in that area prior to the incident) I have had to keep my nose to the grind stone most of my waking hours.
That being said...I do have a very detailed diary of sorts, outlining my personal training routine, personal bests, goals, diet, and steroid use. The steroids were prescribed in this case, so I did not feel at risk writing down my dosing schedule.
What stopped me from marketing this on the boards was pure and simple respect for Mr. Spellwin. Same goes for Ulter over at AF, where I am a mod.
I do not consider their boards a place for me to conduct business. This is their property, made manifest by their own hands. I felt, in the end, that to openly market my materials, even some other than that book, was ultimately a form of tresspass.
I think at times people tend to forget that this venue is a luxury that is not easily acquired or maintained. It takes work and dedication. This is why I so loathe those who utilize this venue to pointlessly criticize and argue about issues of which they really know nothing. True, one of the best aspects of this is free speech and the exploration of some forward concepts (which can lend itself to erroneous conclusions at times), but that is still no excuse to disrespect the venue in any way. Even if I were to be polite about it, tresspass is tresspass. I give the information I have freely. I am not a doctor; I do not have a hundred grand of medical expense and education to pay for, nor is my knowledge of the caliber of some who have such expertise. To charge people here for it seems somehow...vulgar.
There are other things that I think about, such as marketing the book outside of this venue. But again, when I look over what I have, I find that it is not really anything original. My philosphies about working out are really quite simple, and are congruent with my philophy about life in general --
Commit yourself. Educate yourself. Apply yourself. Share yourself.
And stay honest.
Make sense?
