What do you guys think?

I have a friend and i called her up and asked if she wanted to do something saturday nite.. and she said she couldnt she was busy.. doing the above.. :worried:

Dating sites i get and i understand but this site is kinda.. sad.. they even have some trapeze thing.. what kinda people do you think go to these events..

She's a bit chunky.. (ok more than a bit) but very pretty girl otherwise.. im gonna ask her to take pictures

They have plenty of those sites for people in my area. In D.C., nobody stays for more than 5 years, its an area highly concentrated with educated professionals that are always busy. Sites like this provide an opportunity to meet people and do activities that people don't have time to plan. If you just moved to the area, its a great way to meet new people and do something even if its just a one time thing.

Alot of them are not just dating sites. The sites I've seen for peeps in D.C., are for busy professionals. Its nice to be able to look something up that has already been planned and all I have to do is give them my credit card number & update my Palm, if I want to go to a wine tasting, Atlantic City, VA Beach, or whatever they are planning (I don't have the mental energy right now to plan shit).

The events those sites provide are no different than the EF meet-up being planned for March. The people are normal & attractive.

I'm not against alternative ways of meeting people.. just thought the events were kinda funny.

I dont see the harm, seems like fun. I've always wanted to do the speed-dating thing myself just to say that I did it. But never got around to it.

She did that last nite i haven't heardhow that went yet.

I have had my pic on web sites.. like plentyoffish.com on the net, just like most ppl have..(dating site) but havent really ever meet anyone.. usually end up running in to ppl who recognize my pic when i go out to a club or something
 
I'm not one to judge but I don't think I'd do anything like that since it seems a little out-there to me. And if it seems a little out-there to me, there's a good chance it seems very out-there to lots of other people. What the hell do I know though?
 
I have dated online almost exclusively now for 4 years and it has been a great experience for the most part.

It is really easy to weed out the psychos after an email exchange or two. Some misrepresent themselves to some extent. There was a pocketfull of REAL assholes but the ratio was very low. For the most part I met some duds (harmless, but still duds) but most were very nice, just not for me.

Then there were the few that I met that either the timing was off or they just wouldn't let me get close (emotionally unavailable). Met a handfull of friends (the guys you save "for later" LOL).

But I am thinking I met myself a keeper recently.

do people find true love on dating sites? i mean most of the time people lie in there bio and arent who they say they are. or they have issues beyond repair. i dont know i havent heard any good every after stories from dating sites.

I have heard of lots of people who met and had great relationships.

It is just another way to meet people. Nothing more, nothing less.

That said, I run google checks on every guy I meet, I don't care how I meet them.

Kind of akin to the cyber assholes that I would ignore on the online dating sites. They would get pissed off if I didn't respond to their emails. All I would say to them (If I was bored and felt like fucking with them) was, "Must suck ass to be ignored by all the pretty girls in real life. I can't BEGIN to imagine what it must feel like to be ignored online too!"
