Frozen Winny

Just spoke to a friend of mine at the gym and he asked me if his winny would be okay if by accident it got frozen. He left it in the trunk of his car over night and when he took it out the next day it was half frozen. I had never heard of this happening before so i didn't know what to tell him. Let me know what you think.
