I did buy some frozen Wild Salmon from Trader Joe's however....

probably some pesticide, pcb feed farm somewhere off chile

always buy your frozen and fresh protiens from reliable sources
might as well beat cardboard with afew added chemicals added

i know i've not posted on here much but i am a chef by trade and i know what they do to some of that stuff

the stuff he's talking about isn't canned its actual individually packaged filets. They aren't wal-mart brand either. They are actually pretty good too.

BTW, what's the matter with Atlantic Salmon like the chinook? We used to snag them on the Genesee and catch them in Lake Ontario during the spawn and they were delicious. I hate farm raised salmon as well, might as well drink fish oil.

chinook is not atlantic
pacific salmon and atlantic salmon are two different fish
i prefer pacific kings

LOL, yeah, just looked it up, they're non-native kings stocked to Ontario and Erie. But still they tasted damn good, and were a lot of fun to catch. K to you

no prob bro,but like I said the store will say it is wild and it,s not in most cases,and the wild stuff tastes the same as farmed,but the farmed has a bunch of chem,s in it and all the sea licethats all I,m saying there bro

but that too can be a misnomer
and as buffer has mentioned things can be mislabeled
why i stick with organic free range line caught salmon
sometimes when they fish them them channel them all into a small area and there is alot of bruising and battering going on
i am a chef of 30 years experience
and i spent 2 years in alaska on fishing boats

the day they figure out how to farm halibut i will stop eating that too

If you can find a good Wal-Mart superstore the food is great and cheap! The problem I have with salmon is the damn bones! I cant deal with them...as soon as I get one it's over Johnie! I throw out the rest of the filet. Any ideas on how to beat this so I can eat more salmon?
