Interesting read

A document purportedly captured in an al-Qaida hideout portrays the insurgency in Iraq as being in "bleak" shape, saying that it is losing strength and proposing ways to stir up trouble between the U.S. and Iran to divert American attention.

American and Iraqi forces have killed 104 insurgents in 452 raids nationwide since al-Qaida in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed last week, the U.S. military said.

Arrests, weapons seizures and money shortages are taking a heavy toll on al-Qaida's insurgency in Iraq, according to the three-page transcript released Thursday by the Iraqi government, which said it reflects al-Qaida policy and the terror organization's cooperation with groups loyal to Saddam

All the facts fit. And it is a realistic assessment of the situation.

The ultimate irony, which is touched upon in the article, is all the doomsaying in the US Press, and whines about how we need to get out immediately from US politicians, is actually the only encouragement they have.

They can't win in any conventional sense. Their only hope of victory is to chase us out of Iraq, as they did to Clinton in Somalia. Every time I read one of these assholes in the press, or a scumbag like Murtha, I see the comments as directed towards the terrorists themselves. One big "dont give up, give us a little time and we'll give you your victory."

This clearly proves - these insurgents are fucking smart.

"It suggests carrying out a range of terrorist acts for which it will falsely implicate Iran, including bombings in the West and kidnappings. It also recommends declaring the existence of a relationship between Iran and terrorist groups, and disseminating bogus confessions showing that Iran has weapons of mass destruction."

You know what - this probably would've worked. Critics of Bush would've decried "now you got Iranians into it", support for Bush wouldl've dropped even further, Iran would be pissed they're getting blamed for something they didn't do, and the insurgents would get the heat off them, and time to regroup.

Smart, fucking smart. Too bad for them, their plans were stifled. Terrorists, as shown on 9/11, are always plotting and should never be under-estimated.

I wonder how long before George Soros, Move ON, and Howard Dean start holding fundraisers for the terrorists in Iraq.

I heard John Kerry wants to sponsor a bill complaining how American soldiers failed to knock before dropping those bombs on the terrorists.

In other news, Iran unveiled thier newest "peaceful, energy generating" nuclear project.

Broly

That has been clear to anyone not part of the idiot left. The murders in Iraq are not mindless violence. Their one and only hope is to remove the US from Iraq and hope to take advantage of a power vacuum.

Since they are incapable of physically driving out US forces, they need the American people to decide on their own that they want to leave. To do so they count on US media coverage of every irrelevant action they commit. So they continue blwoing people up knowing full well that our media and democratic politicians will sensationalize each one.

The sad irony is that without democrats there would be little point or advantage to their continuing efforts. They have already failed, and recognize as much, with the actual Iraqi people.

dullboy says that this is an interesting analysis.

dullboy would love to hear someone from the other side retort your points.

The saddest part is that it isn't even the first time. They did a similar thing with the Sandinistas during the 80's. Actually wrote them to keep things calm till after the elections at which point they would help them with legislation and undercutting the Reagan Administration. They should have been lined up and shot then for treason.
