Okay,
So, I am trying to complete my rating for the FAA so that I can become a DER and not have to go thru my mentor any more. However, my mentor was busy and a friend of mine that is very smart and has every rating you can think of as a DER said he would review my work.
So, I packaged up what the FAA has been accepting for this particular job for over 2 years with no problem. They have even stated that they like the work I do and it is what they want to see. So I figure and my buddy figures 10 minutes done and gone.
He shreds (brutally I might add) my work. He likes absolutely nothing I had done and doesn't give a shit about whether or not it has been accepted by the FAA before. So I start to change it, format everything to what he wants. Every time I do what he asks, he says wrong, or he forgets what he told me and says I am not paying attention. He has pretty much made me feel like a Sophomore aircraft stress analyst!
So, I asked him if he would like to just take over the project and complete it with out me and I will just keep working for my mentor as it is apparent that my analytical skills are not good enough. Or, I can send it to my mentor and do it thru him.
Basically, I told him that I was not being a smart ass, but my friendship with him is worth more than this frustration on both parts that will eventually ruin the friendship in just trying to get this done.
He is very good at denigrating you without your knowledge unless you pay attention to his subtle comments and innuendos.
Anyway, I thought I was one job away from getting my certification, but I may not be.
