Eh..... if ur a man and reading this then yes they are..... if ur a woman and wanna sit on my face for a few hours then no they are not but they can help u in your goals:D

Then you met THE ONE! LOL

So many guys would complain to me about French women.

Me, personally, never had one so I don't know.

I did have one friend who was a French woman and I have to say that she DOES fit all the descriptions you posted...

See how you are? I spend 7 months in Paris and you make it there when I come back to the states! *sniff*

Lemme put it like this..... I intend to be spending a serious amounf of time chez France in zero four to put it mildly, are u back at the ranch yet?

Oh suuuuuuuuuuure... You get some French pussy then you are ALL ABOUT PARIS!! LOL

I will be stuck in the states indefinitely. But I am making the most of my time. The next time I leave, it will be WITH my children, so it will take a little longer this time around. Depending on how psychotic my ex shows himself to be, it may not be that long at all...

Either way, it is all good.

I miss Paris something awful. The morning I had to leave it was before daylight. I went on a walk along the Champs Elysees and around my old neighborhood (the 15th area) before any place was open... I cried.

I have lived my entire life in the area where I am now and I feel like a fish out of water...

Actually I received my divine offering in Toulouse and believe me , that was the only thing "loose" about that girl....... but yeh I'm sitting here in my apartment in Munich dreaming about "le retour".

I understand how u feel about goin back , I spent the first 17 years in Ireland and although I miss the sense of humour I will never settle there. Can't understand how anyone could complain about French women , they are so open and "not bitches" I'm still kinda in shock.....

Hope u are well and keeping head above water , je t'embrasse

I'm fine Darlin'... took me a little while to pull my head out of my arse. (Stress will wedge it up there something awful.)

Getting ready to nail that sorry bastard's ass in court. ;)

Getting OUR lives in order so that no matter where we settle, it will be "all good". I don't know where exactly that will be, but it will definitely not be the area where I grew up. There is nothing here for me or my girls. The world is our oyster! :)

So glad that you met someone nice...

French-Canadian chicks are the best of both worlds...you get the cute accent without the excessive body hair, odor, and attitude.

LOL not workin' on anyone anymore. A man can "work on a woman" but it doesn't work the other way around. Been there, done that - don't care to revisit there again.

What about you Mr Dutch? How YOU doin' wif yo fine self these days? :D

Haven't met one that isn't a stuck up bitch yet. But I'm sure there's one or two out there...

ive been to france a couple times, and i dont think ive ever seen more beautiful women anywhere other than my university campus

and french canadian girls can be good and bad, but on average, France had way more beautiful women
almost NO overweight chicks

france sounds pretty fucking sweet.....i would have thought deutchland would be full of all the pretty madschen tho?....

Sorry you miss it so bad... :(. There's an official site for the 15th arrondissement if that helps: http://www.mairie15.paris.fr/mairie15/jsp/Portail.jsp

I'm going for a short trip the 3rd or 4th week of January. Want me to FedEx you some crepes? :p

Now where on earth does someone find a link like that? LOL

I lived at 56 rue Vasco DeGama... not the ritzest area like the 8th, 5th or 6th, but still it was nice. A few times p/week there would be an open air market. I loved walking by and looking at all of the produce, the seafood, the meats, the flowers... Something about the radishes and the shellfish. I'm an artist so I see things differently than most, all the colors and textures... I can still hear the silly organ-grinder coming down the street at 10AM on a Sunday morning. How I felt like throwing a shoe instead of a couple Euro!! Even though I was all pissed off that she woke me, I couldn't help but smile to myself as I had only seen things like this in old movies and cartoons before. I walked EVERYWHERE!! It was swwwwweeeeeeeet.

Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of things that I REALLY HATED: being without my children, cold, and hungry; that I didn't miss. But that had nothing to do with the country... just a character building experience, I guess.

The French are truly an odd bunch. I think that it was Napoleon that said it best (in reference to Paris): "I like the cage, I just don't like the birds that are in it."

Once one realizes that the only thing wrong with France IS THE FRENCH, one can actually enjoy France.

I can't wait for the day when I take my girls to Monte Marte to the Sacre Couer (sp.. I know, I know!) to look at the beautiful view of such an amazing city and take them for a ride on the carousel at the base... The view also from the Tower Eiffel. I will never again visit the top unless it is with my girls. The garden at Versailles... I want to play hide and go seek in the mazes with them and fantasize the hours away WITH them as I had to do so many times WITHOUT them.

Someday.....

PS - no crepes.. I can take or leave those. Heck I can make them myself. What I would REALLY like is an amazingly fresh pastry! A chocolate tarlet perhaps. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

France is an odd, odd place. I can't stand French politics, especially how they just have to oppose the US just because they can't accept that there's a nation that's more powerful then France. They REALLY have an inferiority complex against the US and it makes them look like jackasses (imho). I can't stand the snobby attitude and how incredibly important it is that you've gone to THE finest schools and have THE right last name (doesn't apply to Americans). I want to slice their throats when they turn a regular business meeting into an intellectual pissing game.

But, it's also an absolutely amazing place. I can't put my finger on what it is but you just feel alive when you walk up and down the streets of Paris. It's like no other city. The architecture, the cobblestone, the cafés, the bridges... It's almost impossible to describe to someone who hasn't been there.

And, there are great Parisians. Nope, they're far from as open and welcoming as the Italians but once you get to know them, you can easily sit at the same café or bar for hours and have one heck of a good time.

If you go, DO NOT go in June, July and August. It's too hot and they're SICK of American tourists. I'm not entirely sure I can blame them. Busloads of fat and loud Americans in sweatpants can be a pretty darn annoying sight. Go in May or September instead. Perfect weather and you're much more likely to be welcomed. AND DON’T TALK POLITICS.

Oh, one more thing. FORGET finding a good gym in Paris. There are a couple of decent ones (in a mega-city). The French don't have to work out, they smoke instead.

I trained at the Club Med Gym in the 8th on rue De Berrie off the Champs Elysees. It SUCKED ASS, but hey, it was better than nothing.

You are DEAD ON about all of your observations about the French. And also hit the nail on the head about Paris....

But you forgot to mention about how the French lie like it is breathing to you and me. I couldn't understand why my ex bf would say, "I am not just saying this to be nice with you..." then give the compliment before he complimented me about something. That is, until I had lived in Paris for several months. It is because it is culturally accepted that THEY ARE LYING so, if they are actually being hones about something and not just being "polite" then they must pre-qualify it with such a statement. LOL

I agree with you about when to visit Paris as well and sadly about the American tourist thing. The US is such a great country. Why so many would choose to represent it in such a negative light to the rest of the world is beyond me.

But one thing that I must say in defense of Americans. They might be rude, crude, uncultured, loud and obnoxious but dammit - THEY ARE DIRECT!

Quick!

How can you tell if a French is lying?

One would think the answer is.... "Are their lips moving?

NOT....

The answer is simply:

ARE THEY FRENCH?!

tee-hee

I strongly urge every American who has never been abroad to visit Paris.... Just try to speak a bit (It ain't that hard regardless of what the French think.) and smile widely, you will be FINE. You will have an amazing experience in a breath-takingly beautiful city. I promise! And if all else fails, just remember that for heaven's sake... THEY ARE FRENCH - THEY DON'T HATE AMERICANS.... THEY JUST HATE EVERYBODY!!!.... INCLUDING EACH OTHER! ;)

Sorry to hear that Sugarplumb. There is only one thing that I feel THAT passionately about... LOL and it ain't a place on the map.

NOW GO TO SLEEP!

Come to think of it, I have to get back to work m'self.

On some of your other observations I can sympathise with but some of this is really neither true nor fair. If you can't accept that there may be a nation which prides itself to a tremendous extent on producing truly free thinkers then I'm sorry for your ignorance. I took a train this morning from Nuremberg to Munich and bumped into a German Ph.D (Mech. Engineering) on his way back to Stanford University , he studied with some French kids there and was simply in awe at their level of mathemathical virtuosity , and he was obviously no slouch himself. If you think that going to Harvard or at least Ivy League in the States doesn't open doors then you are sadly mistaken. On the last point , I was in the company of groups of drunken French kids all last week , do you know what they do when they are drunk? They play a game where they ask questions on general knowledge. In Ireland we merely get violent , so I have nothing for admiration for the French as a people . Arrogant - yes but equally brilliant.

Try to do business with them, they'll make up anything. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G. "Invoice, what invoice?"

I just don't get it. WHY, WHY, WHY are American tourists such an ugly sight? Do they all come from Hoboken and Elizabeth (see other thread about those lovely places)? Did the ALL win their trip at their local tobacco spitting contest? AND WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH SWEATPANTS 24/7? You truly look like an idiot if you walk around the fashion capital of the world in s-w-e-a-t-p-a-n-t-s. Duh.

And if all else fails, just remember that for heaven's sake... THEY ARE FRENCH - THEY DON'T HATE AMERICANS.... THEY JUST HATE EVERYBODY!!!.... INCLUDING EACH OTHER! ;)
Absolutely 100% true.

You're missing my point entirely. I was born and raised in Europe, have lived in France, and I absolutely believe the school system in Europe is better than in the US and that France, and other European countries, have produced a great number of excellent free thinkers. THAT'S NOT MY POINT.

My point is how there STILL is a feudalistic picking order in almost all of Europe, especially in France. The right last name will get you into the right schools and you might be dumb as a doornail, but you’re still "better" than someone who's really smart but not from the right place.

I know that you'll argue that this is true about the US as well, and it is, but not AT ALL to the same extent. I know it's a cliché, but it really is true that you can make it in the US EVEN if you come from nothing. Sure, MOST people who come from nothing end up with nothing but the kind of glass ceiling that exists in Europe is just not here.

It's usually incredibly hard for Americans to understand this since at least the notion in the US is that everyone is equal (I know, I know, it's not true). That notion is NOT true in the hearts of most Europeans .

Good Will Hunting would never have been produced in Europe.

I haven't seen My Left Foot but it's now on my list of movies to rent.

What I meant by "THE finest schools and have THE right last name (doesn't apply to Americans)" is actually a good thing for Americans. Americans just don't fit in ANYWHERE in the traditional picking order which usually means that Americans are FREER in France (and other parts of Europe) than Europeans. I really think it's better to be an American in France than French in France. Americans (who don't dress in sweatpants and aren't loud and obnoxious) can really thrive in Europe.

I dunno about some of your perceptions , if you had said that Americans are freer in Europe because of a negative stereotype reducing expectations then I can see that. I have certainly never felt that I was restrained in any country regardless and if I was then I preferred to ignore that prejudice. I do think Americans can do well in Europe but they have to forsake many of their stalwarts such as loudness and really blind acceptance of American foreign policy .... quite honestly I don't think any European leader would have survived the WMD debacle , merely because the public outrage would have been so great.

yeah, but do they ever shower?

It is interesting how Americans view women from other countries.

B True

I got high with a french girl studying MBA (along with a few other people)... she was very suggestive, very attractive and quite fashionable. I still remember seeing her eat everything in my flat (she had the munchies) repeating "it's terrible!". She also went to the same gym as me. I would have liked to hit it from a multitude of angles, but unfortunately she was pretty tight with some Swedish dude. That is the extent of my interaction with French girls.

I lived in Paris for a while, on Rue Monge, then for a long time on Rue des Beaux Arts. I LOVE Paris.

Lived for a while down in Roanne (yuck, not terrible, but yuck), then for a while in Vezelay (actually Avalon, then Vezelay).

Jugon les Lacs out in Brittany too. LOVE Brittany, but of all the places I lived while in france nothing compares to Cassis, or Arriette(thats a she, not a where). ;)

Mandinka, you also raised some extremely valid points... The schooling system is (I have been told by many. I don't know how accurate this is but you and Hellorhi seem to be in agreement on this.) ONE OF THE BEST IN EUROPE.

CULTURE IS FREE.

Social Security, Health Care... ALSO VERY GOOD.

But that lying, fuedal system, glass ceiling stuff - damn talk about repression! I had a few French friends (30 - 40 something top level execs and management) who were aging REAL FAST because of this.... I actually felt glad that I had a talent and the internet so I would never have to rely on a "conventional job" to support my family.

Great conversation - wonderful points raised by all.

No doubt. It's sad how low the average US high school kid scores in comparison to French or German kids.

She's been doing it for the last 8 years (she's 25) , met her older sister - waxed too , had a hilariously open conversation with the pair of them about it. The older sister had been out stateside and wanted to get it waxed , she thought that Americans were "repressed" since she couldnt find a salon to do it.

I will do it.

i live in canada
ottawa to be specific
i find most french gals to be fine and refined
i see so much trash i makes me want to give up women
thankfully french dames keep me interested
not saying canadian/american women are not sexy
look at shania twain, faith hill
i also love english women......kate beckinsale, janey leeves

i see a trend
most french/french canadian and english/scottish/irish women tend to be on the slim side
but also well groomed, polite and well spoken
monoslylabic grunts only count in the bedroom
hmmmmmmmmm
yes a trend
