As far as I know if you use an ftp app like cuteftp to connect to a site, the person on the other end can't see your files unless you give them permission via username and password. I don't really care either way b/c all I have on my system is nothing but porn and sw that I didn't pay for in the first place.

i would STRONGLY suggest you guys avoid this ...its very easy to hack into your puter and logging into something like this you may be at risk of someone being able to read all your files and passwords....

also i suggest all of you download zone alarm...the free version is great firewall and will help protect you..

I personally like zone Alarm better, much easier to navigate. Also, don't worry everybody i'm not trying to hack into your machines. There are much easier ways to do that.

For anyone interested, I'd recommend Tiny Firewall. It's for the more advanced user though, as it gives you more precise control over things than does Zone Alarm. Not that Zone Alarm isn't good, because it is, its just that some people like to have more control over everything coming in and out of their computer. Either way it is much better to have some sort of firewall than not have one at all.
