DCUP, it's obvious that Al Quada has entered a new, worldwide coordinated phase. No more individual "splinter cells". It seems like all the individual cells have "joined forces" in a combined and organized effort to get the most effect on their enemies. So DCUP, what do you think is the next step or phase for Al Quada? If they had a dirty domb, don't you think they would have used it already?

IMO terrorism should be fought from 2 directions.

1st: Kill all terrorists. Obviously simplified, particularly as the term 'terrorist' can be abused, but I see no other solution for these 'individuals'

2nd: When it is possible, stop pissing off the goddamn muslims. However, their backwards ass culture does not make me overly sympathetic to fundamentalists like the Taliban .. quite the opposite.

It may very well turn out to be a more successful strategy to democratize this region possibly even by force if necessary than to sit around and placate them and wait for them to quit hating.

these recent attacks are signs of how WEAK al-qaeda is.

if they were 'strong', they would not be attacking their home base (saudi arabia) or some fucking small country like morroco. no, they would be going after the US, still.

the attack in saudi arabia is going to be used as more propaganda in the arab world. since we are pulling our military out of there in the next few days/weeks, they pulled an attack off, so they can use it as propagands to say they scared us off. basically, they are trying to re-create mogadishu all over again, simply so they can use it as more propaganda to recruit more people.

this angle has been discussed, from various sources (talk radio, op-eds, etc), since the attacks first happened. i think it is right on the money.
