Woohoo!

FORZA FERRARI!
They have as much chance of winning Sunday as me to get laid this weekend (that is around 0.001%)

But feel free to bet on Schumi

How about a separate event where we can bet on how many laps the McLaren goes before its engine blows up? Or how far Kimi has to walk to get back to the pits?

Honda and Ferrari seem to be doing the ass-kicking in practice (and Williams). Maybe Button will finally have a good year? I can't wait to see Button out-qualify Barrichello every race this season.

I really hope Barrichelo will show this little arrogant piece of shit (Button) how to drive.

Don't forget Renault, they'll be good this year too

On a side note Schumacher scored his 65th pole position in Formula 1 and thus equalled Ayrton Senna's record.

Schumi is back!

Schumacher looked truly jubilant after the race. Interesting to note are Massa's whinges that Fisi held him up and that otherwise he would have taken Pole. Well driven, kid, but no coconut.

Kimi hater!
I've nothing against him

He's just a bit "cold" ( Ralph Schumarer said he was arrogant too) and I don't like Macca

I prefer low budget teams who kick ass (like Renault last year)

At least Hakkinen had a sense of humor and was a rather cool guy

But I respect him as a driver (one of the top 3 with Schumi and Fonzi)

And the driver of the race was........ Kimi Räikkönen. :)
Yay, he had a good race

The season looks promising

perkele said:
That German, Nico Rosberg was good too.
How come he is German since his father Keke Rosberg is Finnish?

The V10s looked strong on the straights but not enough to make any difference to the front-runners. I can see some complaints from the middle ranks as the season progresses.

It looks like we're in for a decent season, reliablity willing.

It's funny to see the ex-Minardi with their old V10 and low budget beat the richest team, Toyota

Some heads will fall

He has never lived in Finland. Doesn't speak Finnish and when he wins they play German's national anthem. Deutschland, Deutschland ueber alles, ueber alles in der Welt.

Too bad for you guys, he's a talented rookie

did he manage to move from the end to a third finish?
if so that was impressive

Yes. And he had much heavier fuel load than the rest of the gang so it makes it even more impressive.

Alonso is gonna do it again
Maybe

The Macca should catch up very quickly and Reanult's future in F1 in uncertain ......

Decent race. No major shunts, minimal attrition, no yellow flags or safety cars, lots of good wheel-to-wheel racing. The rule changes don't seem to have done any damage to the formula (unlike last year...).

Kimi's 22-->3 run was fairly heroic. Despite Peter Windsor's ooh-ing and ah-ing, I think the new McLaren is nasty looking, it looks like one of the gynocological tools for mutant women from Cronenberg's "Dead Ringers".

I think the competition is going to be tough this year, the front-running teams Ferrari, McLaren and Renault all seem strong, Honda and Williams look to be capable of decent results too.

Since F1 races normally start at 1:00 PM Sunday local time, why did this one start at 5:30 AM my time? What time zone is Bahrain in? Do they have time zones that are off by half an hour?

Why are they allowed to run a V10?

And is this temporary, or for the whole season?

Whole season

They were allowed to use the old V10 b/c they were a "poor" team without enough ressources to develop/buy a V8

But then they were bought by thew same guy who own Red Bull Racing ....

Apparently, after the first phase of the qualifying, Ralf drove into the pits and started to rattle off a list of tweaks to his engineer for phase 2. The pit crew had to tell him that he was out.

It's going to be interesting to see how Toyota tries to apply its wealth.

Mr. dB said:
He was out for the last phase of qualifs for position 1 to 10

BP, I can't beleive toyota fucked up like that

they had a huge budget, Mike Gascoyne, a very good wind tunnel and they stared to work on the 2006 car very soon last year

blut wump said:
He didn't even make the 11-16 run-off.

It is most odd that Toyota could have been caught in this state.
You're right

I watched the qualif live at 6 am and I didn't remember well :worried:
He was behind the Torro Rosso in 17th position

Toyota is struggling with the Midland, Super Aguri and the BMW

The Team Principal, Tsutomu Tomita, said there were no problems with the cars, they were "just" slow....

Does Pintoca watch F1?

Yep he does

BTW Perk, that is the NAZI anthem, you don't want to be singing that around here. Since 1952, the anthem says:

inigkeit und Recht und Freiheit Unity and law and freedom
für das deutsche Vaterland! For the German Fatherland
Danach lasst uns alle streben Let us all strive for that
Brüderlich mit Herz und Hand! In brotherhood with heart and hand!
Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit Unity and law and freedom
Sind des Glückes Unterpfand; Are the foundation for happiness
Blüh' im Glanze dieses Glückes, Bloom in the glow of happiness
Blühe, deutsches Vaterland

Some peope are still not happy abut the Vaterland word, but it remains

Forget the song. Did you watch RTL channel? How did Franzi do? She's now F1 commentator for RTL channel.

A couple of things,

1) The next GP is in 4 days (Kuala Lumpur) which is awesome!

2) Props to Scott Speed on finishing 13th in his first GP

3) Nico Rosberg and Jacques Villeneuve is kind of cool, given their Dad's competed.

I'm looking forward to Malaysia. The weather usually has a huge influence there.

We'll also get to see how well the engines hold on for their second week.

They forecast rain, which is not uncommon

That should be a fun race to watch
