What did you do to celebrate your 40th birthday?

My boyfriend will be fourthy in less about 10 weeks. I want to surprise him with something but I have no idea what.

We were going to go to another country to SCUBA dive but can't anymore because he will be having surgery about 4 weeks before his birthday.

Ideas are highly welcomed. :)

I have nothing planned for mine in 10 weeks. I'd like to reward myself by being 17 lbs lighter.

2 twenty year olds

Is that what you really had for your 40th birthday? Or are you suggesting that I present him with 2 twenty year olds? He won't have 2 twenty year olds. Instead he'll settle for one 22 year old.

I'll be there in 3 months. I'm gonna go to the gym and congratulate myself for 26 years straight training without hardly a break. I am a warrior. Except when I'm sitting around and then I lose courage. Right after a workout I'm ready to take on the world and die.

Well, better 2 twenty year olds than 4 ten year olds, no?

I'd say you should give your man some hot, steamy loving x40.

Well, that's a given.
The day before his birthday it's my birthday. Hot, steamy loving a plenty he will have.

Ahh. Well he's already experienced the two women thing for a birthday gift in the past so it wouldn't be new to him. I'm sure it would be exciting but nothing super special as he can do that normally anyways.

Did you notice the x40 part?

I wish I had a girl who could do that part.

Yea I saw that part.

I don't think that's what the Lord had in mind.

I thought about Jamaica. We really can't go anywhere in the Carribean. We could but we'd run the risk of being hit with a hurricane since October is in the middle of hurricane season.

He's having surgery to repair a hernia. Then a few weeks later he will have surgery on his hand for carpal tunnel.

So something physical is out.

How about just relaxing on a beach and pamper him after the surgery. :qt:

Then save the Jamaica trip and go scuba diving later? :verygood:

Seems like that is what we will do.

I decided to ask him tonight what he would like to do for his birthday. Since in Canada it's cold in October, I knew he'd want to go someplace warm. He said he wanted to be on a beach someplace. So now, I'm thinking Hawaii will be the best place since it's really the only place with beaches that isn't in hurricane season in late October.

When we went was in October cuz his bday is Oct 14th.....all we had was a Tstorm once.....just cuz it's hurricane season doesn't mean you'll actually have a hurricance....get travel insurance....

My wife threw a surprise party for me with all of my favorite people there. It worked, I was totally embarassed. Told me we were going to hang out with another couple which I really didn't feel like doing. She insisted. We walked in and BLAM!!! I'll never forget it. :)

Living in a hurricane region I know that just because its hurricane season does not guarantee you will have a hurricane or you won't. It's his birthday. I don't want to risk the chance of having to postpone or reschedule or even have a shitty time if a hurricane does hit Jamaica. I want his birthday to be memorable but not because of a stinking hurricane or otherwise bad weather.

That's what I want to do, something he will never forget.

I thought about a surprise party but unfortunately that wouldn't work. He doesn't want to be in Canada, in the cold weather, for his birthday. All his family and friends, etc. live in throughout Canada. Some live in the US too. Since they all live in scattered locations throughout North America that would mean many would have to travel. I wouldn't want people to spend their money to help make his day memorable. So instead it will be him and I someplace warm. Hopefully that will be memorable.

I had a great father, thank you. My dad was always home, taking me places, teaching me things, playing games with me, etc. Him and my mother are even still married. Which can't be said about many people's parents these days. They've been married over 35 years and have raised 8 children together.

Choosing to date someone so much older than me does not mean I am looking for a father figure.

I've never been one to want a big production on my b'day. I don't know many out here in Cali anyway so chances are my ex-gf will try to arrange something. I'd rather fly out to see my FB but I think she has family plans.
