.. was suppose to die in December, but Jeb Bush stopped it. Now is scheduled to die in one hour.

The kicker : the DNA evidence used to convict him has been declared inconclusive.... WTF? What was he convicted on? He has maintained his innoncence unwaveringly.

Anotha one bites the dust. And anotha one down anotha one down, anotha one bites the dust.

How can someone stay 25 years on death row ? WTF ? When we used to have the death penalty here, people had to be executed within the next year.

They tried to put him to death in the past, but each time, there were over rulings and stays.

I recall that in the middle east execution takes place within the week of conviction. So much for appeals.

I shall play a song for this event

I'm an agnostic on the death penalty... but was very struck by the fact that we have executed 33 innocent people that we know of since the 1940s. That is an astronomically high figure.

The numbers would be MUCH higher had DNA testing not pulled so many people off of Death Row.

With inconculsive DNA matching, it makes you wonder if he was innocent indeed.

I used to work in a halfway house... early release from prison. We had two guys that I knew of... both coming off 4 year sentences... that were absolutely innocent.

One of them was a really cool guy... ex-NFL football player... owned his own business... and all he did was walk into a Taco Bell one day to get a burrito. The kid behind the counter started jumping up and down that he had committed an armed robbery there two weeks earlier. He thought it was so funny he said to go ahead and call the cops. He just sat there and finished his burrito. They cuffed him... railroaded him... and 4 years later he was up for release... all for getting a burrito at the wrong place. He didn't even match the description of the robber.

Anyone who thinks they can't be prosecuted , tried and convicted of a crime they didn't commit is very naive. I am against the death penalty because of that. However, and this is not being hypocritical, if I caught you hurting or trying to hurt my family I would not hesitate to kill.

That has go to be one of the most horribly designed websites i've seen in eons. I think the web designer should be the one getting the death penalty.

BigSatin I wish someo would kill me rite now my stomach is blowing to pieces

This is my biggest reason for not being able to support the death penalty. In November 2002 we released teh 115 person wrongfully convicted and proven innocent by DNA testing.

There was a great article in the Washington Post earlier where the writer made the observation - these guys are the lucky ones. Not all wrongfully convicted men have evidence that CAN be DNA tested... and many who have requested DNA testing have been told that evidence was destroyed 20 years ago.

Guy was never granted parole because he never admitted to being guilty. Man I love our circus.......er I mean legal system.

Why would a DA refuse to allow DNA testing?

I wonder what percentage of innocents we have in prison?
Does Bush care about innocent people being prosecuted?

Excuse me.....Scotty is supposed to beam me out of here.

I do believe in the notion " an eye for an eye..." but the evidence must be conclusive and overwhelmingly support the decision. If there’s any doubt, then everything must be re-looked at. The fact that in this case there are people casting doubts and with inconculsive DNA matching, its sickens me to know that an inocent may have lost his life.
