Yeah, 14gms of fat per tablespoon!, how is that good for cutting/dieting?, i understand, the antioxidant benifits though..., and is there any side effects to note? feeling lathargic etc?
Defining fat as one unversal term is like saying There is only one steriod. There are my types and subtypes of fats. (mono, poly, EFA, Cholesterol, Trigly, Unsatured, Saturated, etc). What is important is to identify which fats are good.
I can see your concern with 14 gms of fat.. 14 gms of fat in just one TBSP in a low fat diet of 40 gms/day fat per ... to say the least PAINFUll.
To give a little of back ground, there are 3 types of
MAIN FATS: Tryglyceride, phospholipid, cholesterol.
Skip allot of material, Of these three MAIN fats, phospholipid (AKA: eicosanoids) are of importance to Body Builders. Not only they assist in regulating certain biological process ranging from the production of growthhormones to regulating blood presure, but they also are necesary for the development of brain tissue and proper development of the retina.
An as mention in previous post, these are essential Fats... or better known as EFA. Your body cannot manufacture this fats it relies on external intake of it.
Going back to 14 gm of fat per tbsp, the idea is to cosume more of the good FAT and less of the 'bad' one.
Regarding Lethargic, in some who are in a low carb, low fat diet, EFAs
may induce lethargy initially. Nonetheless, in most cases it subsides.
Hope this helps to clear things a bit up.
