Just wanted to say hi to the community and I'm happy to be a new member.
I'm getting back into bodybuilding after a long hiatous and I'm really pumped about it. I quit smoking on november 20th of last year because I was just tired of the way my life was going and I started eating healthy again. I bought a recumbent stationary bike at the time to help me get back into some sort of shape and I haven't looked back.
When I quit smoking I was 198 lbs at 5'10" and my body was just so fatty. I had to be 25%+ body fat. I stopped eating fast foods and cut out high fructose corn syrup and trans fats, I also dropped my calorie intake, and of course the whole quitting smoking after 8 years. It's been a while now and my weight has dropped dramatically. I'm down to 157 lbs which is about 10 pounds heavier than my weight in high school. It's really too skinny for me, I would like to be around 170-175 lbs, but I'm not gonna sacrifice my eating habits to get there. I'll increase my calories to support the muscle growth but I'm going to do it the right way (ie. no big macs).
I have been working out at my house with a pair of 40 pound dumbbells and an olympic bench press as well as an ab ball, but I'm about to make the plunge back into the gym. I can't wait to start.
I'll be posting a lot i'm sure looking for training advice, posting my progress, etc... so again I'm happy to be here and hopefully I can contribute to the community!
Peace-
