First injection - I've been wondering about this

I've been on the board for awhile and it has always made me wonder how 95% of everyone's first injection went perfect. Things like "I was a little nervous but once the needle went in it was a breeze" No one ever gets twice as nervous when the needle breaks the skin wondering if they are about to hit something they shouldn't ? You hardly hear about the stare down with the 1.5" needle wondering if it will go in one side of you and out the other. This is something I don't consider to be a natural act and add the nervousness to it and everyone's first time goes perfectly ? I don't see it. Don't get me wrong I have seen people admit to mistakes the first time, but I can't believe the ratio of perfect to not perfect.

Any others have an opinion ????

Ok you want a bad first time. Well I payed 150.00 for T200 and drove 18 hours do get it. Plus I only got one pin. So the same pin had to draw the oil and then go in me. So it was dull. It took me about an hour of looking at the pin to try. The main thing was that I just spent all that money and I would do this and I'd never do this again ( yea right )
Anyways I layed on my side and would just took the skin and I'd stop. After quit some time I called a good freind to help. I thought she could just jab it in. Well she tried but couldn't do it.
So thier I am with my shorts dropped and a pin full of over priced gear and a dull pin. I just bent over the counter and put the pin to my glute and pushed and pushed some more. I was watching and the pin was dull as hell my skin was bieng pushed in by the pin. I finally got about 3/4 of the needle in and had her push the plunger.
Well all done. I pull up my shorts and walk 2 feet. I passed straight the hell out. She was flipping out.

Now I laugh at it.

to me, a subcu injection is a hell of alot easier to do than an IM.

when i first did gear about 2 years ago, everything was perfect for the first 4 months.. i jam the needle in their lickety split without thinking twice... then all of a sudden one day i couldnt do it, and every injection after that would be a 15 second stare down with the needle followed by a 15 second injection (just getting the needle in).

but then again, that's when i thought you HAD to use 22g or larger.... ouch.

I got scammed and lost money the first time looking, so when things finally got to me, I was so pumped up that I went in the bathroom immediatly and just did it. I too have passed out from simple shots from the doctor. I was just so anxious to get the gear in me that I DID NOT CARE. I had waited months, so nothing was going to stop me. I even had my GF willing to do it if I just waited for her to get off work...... NOPE, I had to have it right then and there, all by myself. WOW!
