first cycle: var only

I weigh 200lbs, I am considering a var only cycle to maintain and possibly gain strength as I drop to a lower weightclass for a sport. What is the shortest possible durration I could run it for while seeing good results
 
I took it for boxing but at a low dosage 20mg a day for 6 weeks. Never lost any weight but liked my workouts on it a lot of strength and energy.
 
piehole good choice. how much do you plan on doing a day? for how long? its a great drug for strength. i gained mass as well but i was bulking. good luck let me know on your results if you go through with it.
 
At 30mg per day BD Anavar together with about 250gr protein per day, got 6lbs in 4 weeks. No side effects whatsoever, did not seem to shut down HPTA at all. Was taking Liv52 three times per day, and 350mg Milk Thistle. Fat percentage remain unchanged at 11%. Strength went up about 40%. This thing is really good for strength.
Was also taking creatine for the first two weeks then stopped it because of stomach discomfort. Did not see any change with or without Creatine.
 
i would say run it for at least 6 weeks. i dont know if your gonna go down in weight class because i gained over 20 lbs of muscle......but lost at least 15 lbs of fat, so im still more then 5 lbs heavier....it just lean quality muscle....and you will get strong as shit!, if its good var.
 
i'm thinking about running it like this:

30mg a day for weeks 1-5
40mg a day for weeks 5-6 (using 40 because I will have a few tabs left over)
contest is on week 6

Just curious how long would it take for all my levels to go back to normal after comming off a var only cycle

Everybody is different. Take your vitamins and aveena, plus "unleashed" and some extra zinc. That will help you recover your HPTA quicker especially if you continue to train hard. I have no idea how it affects "showtime", but some Clomid may not be a bad idea to help restore the Hpta more quickly.
