Finasteride/saw palmetto

Is there an advantage to using saw palmetto with finasteride. Also, anyone know how long it takes finasteride to start being effective with reguard to combating hairloss?

I use both while im on a cycle because I figured that it couldnt hurt, it could only help, but latly I have been hearing that it could fuck up your cycle so who knows.
