finasteride and the prostate?

I keep reading posts on here regarding the use of things like proscar/propecia to combat hairloss during a cycle but I want to know if these should be taken to protect the prostate with test use. Doesn't DHT somehow affect the prostate in a negative way? I've taken saw palmetto products in the past but I'm going to bump up my test dosage next cycle and was wondering if it would be worth my while to add finasteride for the prostate.

It was developed for the prostate, they just got lucky and it helps with DHT-related hair loss too.

so yes, if you have or are worried about prostate issues, then take it. BTW, the dose for BPH is 5mg/day vs 1 for hair loss.

I don't think I have anything to worry about with my prostate but I think I'll take it as a preventive measure. Same with the liver....no problems but I take R-ALA. Thanks for the reply and the doses. Karma your way!
