Fina and Gangreen?

Ok, i was ready to buy my next jar of Fina and a good friend of mine told me that i should go with the QV one cause the home made one could give u gangreen.

Has anybody else ever heard of this and if yes what r the chances of u getting it from using the home brewed Fina???

Your friend is full of shit. I would trust my own fina to someone else's. Just follow the instructions in the kit and you can't go wrong.

Does your friend even know what gangrene is?

I wasn;t sure what gangrene was so I looked it up:


Localized soft-tissue death (necrosis) from prolonged blood-supply blockage. It can occur in arteriosclerosis, diabetes, or decubitus ulcer, and after severe burns or frostbite. In dry gangrene, gradual blood-supply decrease turns the part discolored and cold, then dark and dry. Treatment requires improving blood flow. Moist gangrene comes from a sudden blood-supply cutoff. Bacterial infection causes swelling, discoloration, and then a foul smell. Along with antibiotics, tissue removal may be needed to prevent spread, which can be fatal. A more virulent form, gas gangrene, is named for gas bubbles under the skin produced by a highly lethal toxin from clostridium bacteria. The wound oozes brownish, smelly pus. Infection spreads rapidly, causing death. All dead and diseased tissue must be removed and antibiotics given; an antitoxin can also be used.

Any infection can turn into gangrene. A mosquito bite can go gangrenous.

The point is, though, that it isn't likely to happen - and it is no more likely to happen from an abcess caused by homemade fina than an abcess caused by QV.

Neither homemade fina nor QV are very likely to cause abcesses. If they are caused you can get them treated with antibiotics before they turn into gangrene.

Gangrene can be prevented if the infection is caugh early enough. So your frie

Gangrene can be prevented if the infection is caught before it turns severe. Mostly likely, your friend had gangrene from his own laziness and stupidity. People need to see a doctor if they notice ANYTHING. No sense in taking chances. You only have one body.
