hey guys, first post on Elite!! You guys are very informative and give great information so i decided to post this problem i have been having for quite some time... I am 21 years old.. When i was 15 I lost a fight got beat up pretty bad.. now whenever a siuation rises either somebody getting into my face or comming down to almost fighting, I get these very weird feelings... which include dizziness nausea, self doubt, fear, and very rapid heart beats.. Sounds like a panic attack to me but i have no clue.. i turn this over to you guys.. please help me.. i appreciate it

bro, thats the way i suspect 90% of people feel when they are in confrontation or getting ready to fight. Its normal, i bet nearly everyone has some feelings like that, unless you are a true heartless hardass who likes to do nothing but hurt others

I'll agree that most of us get a little anxious, that's normal. If we didn't get that way it wouldn't be a confrontation.

it's called adrenaline... everyone gets it... especially in a bad situation... i used to get it even worse, but now i am too old to fight so it doesn't bother me as much.

Iv'e felt that before any fight or hairy situation I have ever been in. It's normal. You just have to learn to control it and use it to your advantage. Adrenaline is a good thing.

I used to box. I felt that every damn time in the ring. It goes away once the fighting starts.

Not that extreme though. hehe

Why are you getting in so many situation like that anyway? In my life outside the ring I was in a hostile situtation maybe 10 times at most and probably closer to 5. I am 30 now.

That's what its all about, bro. Learn to enjoy it. Its what being alive is all about. I suggest getting involved in some type of organized fighting, especially grappling. Most of us get the tar kicked out of us at some point in our lives. Even the baddest of the bad lose a fight. Its what you do after you lose that makes you the man you are. The hardest part is accepting that fact and standing up again. Don't trip. It can takes years to heal the emotional scars that a good ass whipping will inflict. Ask any professional fighter about their first loss. Most will express the same self doubt and fear you are experiencing. Learning to fight smart will definately help you get your confidence back, and the guys you train with you'll learn to trust better than anyone else in your life. The next ass whipping will be easier for you to handle :) Good luck, bro.
