There are people from all over here and I bet that there are a great many to chose from. Chorrico and eggs and Steak and peppers are staples around here. Ahh I wish I had a sandwich right now !

Cheesesteak with mushrooms and mustard blend sauce from Texadelphia. Ya'll non-Austinites are really missing out.

REAL italian salami, sharp cheddar, mustard, lettuce, and tomato on Brooklyn, NY hard bread. (chewy bread)

My wife loves that hard Italian bread but I personally like the soft Portagueese bread. nothing like warm massa and ice cold goat cheese right before bed to make you happy God I miss where I grew up !

I GOD I HEAR YA. BUT I LIKE THE PHILLY STYLE....SPENCER STEAK, TONS OF FRIED ONIONS AND MELTED CHEDDAR CHEESE!!! I eat that once a year when i go back to visit my homeland!!

I like those cheap-o "Steak-Um's" They're like processed meat sheets that you fry up on a pan and mix american cheese with. You scoop the meatmush onto a piece of bread and enjoy. That, my friends, is good eatin.

Its the sweetest, most succulent sandwhich ever. As a matter of fact I still have a 1/4 left. I kind of felt bad for eating such a thing of beauty.

BLT on whole meal bread

uhuhuhuhuhhhuuuuuuuuuhhhhh :p

rare lamb, arugula, goat's cheese and a blend of pepper and mint jelly on integrale.

I also like the Spanish bocadillos made with wind-cured ham and manchego cheese.

Spent, is Fonda San Miguel still open in Austin? I had dinner there once with Diana Kennedy, who sort of inspired it.

it must be a kick ass deli that that thing comes from.

I'm glad you mentioned that. This deli is an old school deli. Owned by a family of Italians that have been there for about 40 years. Old fashion service, and all. One of the few stores that are family run in my part of Philly. Actually one of about 3. This deli also has a new girl working behind the counter.....oh sweet lord a goddess. We got into talking, and all; it seems like she doesn't care bout the few years she has on me. Ok fine its 6 years, but "pussy ain't got an age", and shes too fine to pass up on if I had the chance.

Hot Pastrami piled high........

Mustard and mayo...

thick gooey melted swiss cheese

between authentic jewish rye bread.

and a cold crisp dill pickle on the side.

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p :p

I'm not sure, actually. I went there a couple years ago, but I haven't heard anything about it in a long time. Like most restaurants, and Kennedy's, it probably died off.

I'm going to be in my home town on business this week so I'll be going into Marccochi's deli for a hot italian grinder. It is about 14" long and driping with vineagar, oil salt and pepper. Fall River food is the greatest.

My wife made me move up here and the food sux ass.

And REX you might as well go for it if she seems interested. Good luck

death to a diet, a holiday treat.......

shreeded leftover holiday turkey, losta mayonaise on both pieces of white bread, and a slice of cranberry in the middle, salt and pepper.

WOO HOOO!!!

like i said, death to ANY diet, but what the hell, it's the holidays!

Around here we put portaguese stuffing in the middle and call it a " Thanksgiving " . This deli near here " Jim's " has the second best one next to home made !
