Anyone here have any experience with organic farms? I'd love to learn more about converting my parents cows/chickens/produce to organic.

i have an organic garden, but there is an organic farm near me that does very well. they have a farm stand that they don't watch- they just put out the produce with prices and you drop your money in a slot. it's pretty cool.

corn fed beef is shit quality, terrible fat content compared to grass fed.

But what really cracks me up is when advocates for grass only cattle tell you that switching a grazer to grain is so hard on the cattle's gut and that it gives them indigestion. YOUR GOING TO SLAUGHTER IT IN A MONTH OR SO. WTF?

Besides, we only sent our beef to the feed lot for its last 30-60 days.... I just dont like the taste of beef that's grass fed, and I dont eat beef every day anymore. When I eat it, i want it to taste good. If I want to eat something gamey, I'd eat antelope.

But I'll stop talking shit.

yeah, the beef wouldnt survive beyond 6 months on that corn feed diet... The lean beef I get up the street at wild oats/whole foods (look it's the closest place) just tastes cleaner and more fresh somehow. Dunno.

It just seems advantageous to not have to purchase corn feed either, I know it's killing my dad right now the little of it he buys.

I'll agree fatty beef = best taste in teh world.
